many can say that custom games kept them into halo, i certainly can. theres no argument that custom games are great and fun. when combined with forge it jumped fowards into its own community and anything could happen. there was never a dull moment when playing a particulary well crafted zombie game or an interesting twist on king of the hill. however i feel some arbitrary limits have been put on custom games and forge... ones that arent particularly difficult to fix and could be corrected literaly with a flip of a switch.

custom games.
first off starter weapons, ure not allowed to start with any weapon. why not? its not like the programing isnt there for the gun y cant i start with it. there is no reason i can imagine that im not alowed to start everyone with sentinel beams or fuel rod guns or maulers, or for god sakes a plasma rifle or for that matter no weapon should be an option its already programed or should be at least. so many good gametypes could come of this like really fun cat and mouse or warthog wrestling or zombie levels with plot. only good can come from these easy options and so much more variety.

then theres the stat ajustments like damage resistance and movment speed and gravity. why not put the option into incraments of 5's or 10's at least scaling from 0 to 200 (and then from there on 250 300 and 350) theres nothing stopping bungie from doing this besides a little bit of math. now some stats like radar range arent involved in this but most are.

grenade starters and grenade regen. these option are practicaly yes 2x frag or no 2x frag. why can u have 4 little colums one for each type of grenade that lets u choose zero to (however ure alowed in reach) and then regenurating. this way if u want people to be able to throw infinite fire so be it. why not its custom games. this would also allow for some better sticking only game types. this brings me to my next section.

scoring.. this could be used for alot of fun gametypes if only it was comlete with every medal and a few other things. i think some infection gametypes would be vastly improved if u made it so every 5 kills u got 1 point. this would be under spree so it didnt stop at 20=4 points. also have this for every gametype cause some games that could have been fun and original died because u couldnt score the way they thought up. like in territories u could have it so u could only pick up weapons in areas you owned but still got poins for kills making a fun reason to control an area along with a nice bonus for having it.

gametypes.. some are just dumb some are just boring. like oddball or juggernaught and are really hard to make fun without some crazy forging and creativity. but its the small things that screw with these gametypes. for example juggernaught would be vastly improved if i could force a weapon upon him everytime he became juggernaught. who care about what he had make it as tho they were used up have them respawn whatever but heres an example of something u could do with a few of these new options stated above...

ghostbusters. juggernaught
have everyone spawn with sentinel beams limited ammo and nothing else. reduce their movment speed to 90% and reduce radar range to 10%. they also have waypoints the jug can see.
have the juggie have a beam sword and good cloaking and increased speed to 125% no shields and 150 dmg resistance. new juggernaut will always have sword.
points only for kills as the juggernaught.

no other weapons on map no weapon pick up.

first excuse the unoriginality of the theme.
but this would be such a fun gametype all the non juggies would have to stick together or be picked off by the ghost. forge a map with wide open areas and a few scarters forge runner structures like underground rooms with a few ways in. id be a blast. and heck even if it wasnt y couldnt we try.

the thing is without that one option to force the beam sword and sentiniel beam on the players this gametype falls appart. and relies on spawn pickups and honesty to keep it together. to things that wont happen while with a band of sstrang gamers some dude invited... effectivly breaking ure game and the fun.

there is more but youre getting my point
bungie why cant u have less arbitrary restrainst on custom games and forge. take away the cash the item limit. all it does is get in the way of really good maps that could never be made. shure if to many items get placed the map will start lagging but hay no HAS to play on it then. dumb arbitrary limits just hurt the forge and custom community.

if you guys have any good ideas or desires for custom games or forge (non of that dumb item snapping -blam!- or mlg desire of editing the br spread and everything. reasonably stuff pls)
