So far the open security door is the only 'major' development.
The stone henge thing could bear some fruit but my money is on that door and some other factor like skulls or something weird.

hey, keep in mind that the SI is a engeneer also. the brutes would probably let the engineers roam around freely, they probably put the bombs on as a precaution. the Y symbols could be the written form of sighn language tht they use to communticate with other species. thread saved.

*May contain spoilers*
After reading through here(someone just posted a link there), and how they talk about the glyphs being of a covenant origin, I remembered that in the room with "stone hedge", one of the glyphs has the superintendant simbol on it (the circle with the two eyes in it). Anyone who has beaten the game on legendary and stuck around after the epilogue (the video that has a prophet in it) would know that there is a forerunner structure under the level "data hive", where the superintendant is held (the same discovery can be referenced to by the father of Saddie from the audio logs. He mentions a great discovery while working on the superintendant, only to be cut off by Saddie telling him that the city is under attack). I think that at least some of the glyphs are directions to this discovery.

Hmmm, it might contain an extra glyph like the how there was 1 audio file there, which could open up district 9?

A question. Why include the rocket launcher if there is little to no point of having one? Sure they can kill Brutes and the odd ghost you encounter but it doesn't have enough ammo to last long. Maybe there is a special reason for having it. I got this idea about what someone said about spilling blood and sacrificing an ally.

hunters
Actually I assumed they were for the Phantoms. When playing as the Rookie, there is the occasional phantom carrying either supplies or what looks like engineers. If you hit it with one rocket, it explodes the ENTIRE PHANTOM.

You know, that one guy who's investigating stuff hasn't thought of this, but, the barrier numbers (1A, 2B, 6F) could be hexadecimal numbers.

Hey, it was suggested that a group be made to collate all the data, and I know I've sent this to a lot of you, but here is the post for everyone. The Glyph Hunters is a group I made where we can collate all of our data on our Easter Egg hunt so that is organized and we can gradually make a map out of things we have found. Please join?

Odd, I went to a stonehenge area and all the Y symbols were blank (nothing in the arms of the Y)
I shot an elite body with a shotgun and one of the Y's got a sad superintendent face in the top part of the Y.

Strange...

Also, if you use a mongoose to glitch into the area where you would start on the firefight crater map, the stuff on the wall is slightly different...

Interesting... I will have to try both of those. Which stonehenge area were you in? I think that with every area maybe different weapons would have different affects on the SI glyph.

Don't have time to check, but if you care, it's towards the end of this film on my fileshare.

I think i found the same area. Its the one with the dead black elite, right? The SI had the sad face right when i walked in there.

"That guy" did think of hexadecimal and is aware that neither "H" nor "J" are valid hex characters.

...and the dedicated forum for this is still alive and well- just as it has been since September 30th. It's just that now there are many more people working there. Today has been an amazing day and we still have time left! Sheesh. Do I have to link it once again?

Only serious investigators need register.

(i.e. Keep it clean)

I found a few dead elites with a bunch of those glyph things

  • 10.04.2009 8:36 PM PDT

"Of course not, because that would be too conveinient!"

I got so into this that I decided to go in game and look for something myself, and I did. You know that room everyone's talking about, the one that opens up if you look at a certain glyph for a bit? It has a duplicate, only this one has 2 engineers in it and a few glyphs, as well as more features. it is located at 28 on this map. Oh, and one of the glyphs has the superintendant on it.
Also, each of these rooms has, as shown on the in-game map, a room with stoneheadge near by. this one I'm talking about is near one, but it doesnt have the tall rocks in it like stoneheadge, but it has a drop pod.

If you already live in heaven, Where do you go when you die?

WHO CARES ABOUT THE BLANK BOXES?! IF THEY HAD THE FADED QUESTION MARK MEDAL INSIDE THEM THEN I MIGHT BE INCLINED TO GIVE HALF A -blam!-

  • 10.04.2009 9:47 PM PDT

This is most likely unrelated to the glyphs, but why are the phantoms there? I'll try to get a video later, but when on the streets, occasionally there is a phantom seen flying around. One time I had the rockets when it was flying by and figured why not. When I zoomed on it, it looked like it was carrying ENGINEERS? Or at least the bombs they wear. When I let the rocket soar, it hit the phantom. I prepared to fire the second, but to my surprise, it already started to blow. The armor exploded and it all engulfed the phantom, scattering its remains among the streets. Again, not sure if it related, but I hadn't seen anything about it yet. So yea.

People who use long barrels on their guns are compensating for something, and it's not their kill count.

Wow, first of all, if they wanted to remove the space it wouldn't be there instead of two blank boxes, second of all, you seriously need to take a chill pill and read through some of this stuff before you make yourself look like an idiot.

The "y" glyphs look awfully similar to a symbol in an advertisement in the building leading to stonehenge. It's called Askot(Or something like that,I'm far away from my 360 right now). The tagline is "Reach Destiny" (or something like that, sorry).

It also listed some real life locations such as Chicage and some other places (not sure if all are real places)

You guys should look into it.

Hey guys I'm back, and I just read through the 4 pages I missed. This thread is HUGE!
I definitely like the idea of mapping out the elites and symbols but the only problem is how fricken much the symbols change, and so far we haven't found any type of pattern it all seems random, but keep up the finding and I'm going to go join that group!

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

I could not care less about whether or not the sword is in ODST.

1. I'd rather follow the thread and hope I find out something useful.
2. Did a google search for you anyways and there isn't any thing about the hexcode yet.

Get over yourself - drink vodka!

The point of a puzzle is to solve it, not cheat the answer.
We don't want to discover anything via coding.

Maybe the two disc are related? Has anyne gotten the sword spree on the new maps yet? Or gotten all or most of the achievements? Maybe it unlocks that way like they did with the Samari sword!
