CAN SOMEONE JUST GET THE HEX CODES ALREADY

lol, we want answers! arghh :O

1. I'd rather follow the thread and hope I find out something useful.
2. Did a google search for you anyways and there isn't any thing about the hexcode yet.

:[ ty anyways
My apologies, I didn't mean to make it seem like an attack. You were merely making a comment. Again, my apologies.

I got a sword spree on Heretic, and an energy sword didn't unlock in ODST.That would be WAY too easy.

  • 10.04.2009 11:36 PM PDT

So, I open the door get bored and move on. I head over to that pit with the engineers and the super tri intendant glyph (which was not present at the time). Then I decide to go down to the security door again, only to find it is closed. I reason to go back to the elites to open it again and BAM no glyps and I cannot reopen the door, what is going on?

  • 10.05.2009 12:24 AM PDT

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

After you've been in combat the glyphs vanish. Just reload it and they'll be there.

Wanting to get in on this a bit...

So far I can get into Sector 5 and Sector 8's bottom-right one but I'm yet to get into Sector 8 top-right.

Sector 6's bottom left has something interesting.. It's the only one I've found so far that has the SI glyph, apart from the main 'stonehenge' with the dead elites. I also found some other random elites in the city somewhere with two blank glyphs.

Another observation - There only seem two be two different glyphs:

-thin with dots
-blocky, where one glyph has a peice off to the side.

All the others, as far as I can remember are locked or do not seem to have any importance.

The checkpoints people seem to be getting when looking at glyphs, I believe, are just checkpoints the game does every-so-often. I also haven't been able to hear anything major when shooting the glyphs or elites in the 'stonehenge' (The sad SI symbol is already there, does not appear when you shoot the elite).

  • 10.05.2009 2:21 AM PDT

I'm way too lazy to check out pages from 17 to here, so please don't flame eventhough this might have been posted earlier. As I checked out Cold Glider's great video I couldn't miss that you got checkpoint there while watching that glyph. Could that be sign that glyph has reacted and something happened? 'Cause I got checpoint for no reason when I was at that dead end alley where is one dead Elite in district 6 and I looked straight to that Glyph there. Of course there was enemy presence 'cause I was surrounded by three grunts, and if I remember right there was Jackal Sniper near in Cold Glider's video, when you got that checkpoint. Could this really be sign or only pure coincidence?

  • 10.05.2009 2:44 AM PDT

Has anyone noticed that near Tayari Plaza, where you encounter grunts, there is meant to be a Squidhenge, but upon arrival, there is only trees?

  • 10.05.2009 2:50 AM PDT

You don't mess with the Thompsen!!

I think that there is one very big secret hidden in the game.
There obviously are some possible clues. These 'Y' symbols could be clues.
The odd checkpoint.... done moments when walking through New Mombasa could also be a clue, because sometimes you get a checkpoint when you enter an area without any hostile forces, and when I get a checkpoint, I expect enemies nearby.
And there are also many texts on the walls.
For example: Somewhere in the area where you exit your drop pod is the corpse of a marine sitting against the wall, and above his head is written in blood: Remember Reach! Or when you enter one of the many buildings, right in front of you is written: Glass this!
Other texts I've encountered: UNSC=liars, We're next..., What now?

Maybe there is a connection with Halo: Reach. Would Halo: Reach also contain a big secret?

Please don't send me PMs about your Bungie group. I don't care.

I hear you BTW, Kat is the worst AI I have ever had in my turret. The Elite who hi-jacked her was better!

Just for clarification. The "Y" symbol you keep talking about. Is it the one that always appears when you are close to a clue? And if so, the one by the Elites, does it appear during the day WITHOUT turning on the visor?

  • 10.05.2009 3:22 AM PDT

a.k.a. Daishi_NRE back in the day when b.net stood for Battle.net.

I did not notice the glyphs during the day. The only thing remarkable about the area is that the bodies are in a different location. At night they are all in the corner. During the day, they are closer to the barricades and ramp to the overhead walk-way.

I don't know if this has been brought to light yet or not. Someone, I believe in this thread, was mentioning that the glyphs disappear at times. If it's any help. I noticed that the glyphs that have a tendancy to vanish do not show up on the wall while the VISR is off. Most of the glyphs that point out key locations such as audio files and missions, remain on the wall when you turn off your VISR. They are faint, but you can still see them. Example: The glyph that unlocks the "secret" room, has graffiti that says "BELIEVE" across from it. When that no longer appears, you cannot see it when your VISR is turned off.

Sorry this is not accurate. Was hoping to lead to something, and disproved what I was intending. I know, i know, cool story bro, whatever.

There's No Problem That Can't Be Solved With An Abundance Of Weed and A Jetpack.

What secret room?

a.k.a. Daishi_NRE back in the day when b.net stood for Battle.net.

4 ThunderCheeze, so you don't have to read 28 pages:

During Buck's first mission, you come across some dead elites. In the next section where the hunters come to play, there is a room that you can only access during the Mombasa Streets mission at night. You access this room by looking at or walking next to some glyphs that are around the ramp to the overhead walkway. After that, two doors will now be open, to a room that has nothing in it, yet.

The Mythic Threads (Halo 3) (ODST) (Reach)

Yeah, only thing I saw in that area was that weird window with the bathroom tiles. And again, music started when I was inside that area, same with district 6 where I watched the glyph.

"What they don't knw Can't hurt Them

FINALLY GOT THE GAME....but can't play yet =(

Gazas:
does the music like....idk suggest anything with the tones and the speed? i'd have to hear it first before i comment but this is the third or so time i heard that a track plays when you enter the rooms. Do you know the name of the track and perhaps if you hear it when you enter/encounter other things during the game?

The Mythic Threads (Halo 3) (ODST) (Reach)

The track when I entered the room reminded me of the Chieftain rounds in Firefight, a lot of intense drums. Yeah, it scared the -blam!- out of me as I thought 50 Chieftains would jump at me from the rooftops. It started when I looked in the weird window as I said earlier, with those bathroom tiles inside.

Anyway, that track was intense. The other track, the first track when I entered district 6, was different. It was more of a mystery track, calm and creepy. Stopped right as I left disctrict 6.

"What they don't knw Can't hurt Them

hmmmmm

aite good observation btw
have you listened to the odst soundtrack? if you can could you try to find the parts that you described from the soundtrack.
when i start playing i'll look for the sounds too,
maybe try to remember where else besides the rooms you hear the sounds, if that occurs anywhere in the campaign

anyone else think of anything?

I think that if what Gazas found here is related to the search for easter eggs, then maybe its like a clue to the player that you've discovered something that is....epic? lol

or....maybe if we can find out what the track name is called from the soundtrack, whatever the track time is might mean something in the game? kinda out there...but who knows

I don't think that Bungie would go back IWHBYD easter egg cause that's too obvious, but the fact that they emphasized the music over and over in interviews could be a clue to look into that....who knows

anyways good work Gazas keep your ears open! ;)

a.k.a. Daishi_NRE back in the day when b.net stood for Battle.net.

Never noticed them rotating. But, some do have the SI icon on them, including one that has 3 SI icons on it.

The Mythic Threads (Halo 3) (ODST) (Reach)

Thanks, although I'm afraid it won't hold unless some other people experience the same thing (Mystery music when entering district 6 and tense drumming when inside the secret area).

I can take a look at the soundtrack and see if I hear anything similar. Doesn't have to be the exact track, just to give you an idea of how it was.

If you enjoy making maps, then Forever Forgers is for you!!!

Personally, I think it has less to do with the music as it does with the Elites, the Engineers or the Glyphs. The odd bits of writing on the wall have been mentioned to be a link between ODST and Reach. Bungie has stated that ODST does have several links pertaining to the Reach storyline, in the form of Buck and the texts. I would be willing to photoshop a map of our locations as long as someone can tell me whether or not the elites, doors and certain glyphs stay the same no matter what. I can get a general compilation up for readers, but if certain key parts are changing, it may be less likely that it is related to the Easter Egg.

Locations I would include in the map, are doors that can be unlocked, weapons caches containing mongooses or glyphs, Elites (as long as they don't move or disappear randomly), important glyph locations, magic walls or other items that seem important. I will likely upload them to Cold Gliders site, or youtube and all of this data will be collated in the Glyph Hunters group so that we can work with an aim. If we continue as we are going, we are going to waste a lot of time repeating the same things as each person does it for themselves and posts the same things each time. In the group, we will be able ensure that we can remain on track and search for new things. We need to unlock the secret.

Bungie has had hidden Easter Eggs in all of their games, some being particularly repetitive throughout the series. The MEGG, the Talking Grunt, the naked dancing guy and a whole ton of others. It seems unlikely that Bungie would drop the ball on this one simply because it was an "expansion". Even if we don't succeed in finding a massive Easter Egg like we have all been hoping for, we still need to find these little secrets, not because it is worth something, but to prove that we can, and Bungie can't hide anything from this community for long. Sure there will be the retarded hackers and modders going through lines of code looking for something special and noteworthy, but we will find every last egg in the game.

LOL, not much of a motivational speech was it. Sounds a bit geeky :p

Honor Light Your Way, Our Blood Shall Forge A Thousand Generations!.

Even if we were able to accomodate a sword, it'd only have ten uses, unless Bungie gave it infinite.

"What they don't knw Can't hurt Them

Hey Gazas

thanks
would appreciate it.

Scarecrow118:

Thanks for the group and if you do the map, the map too
idk but i think that the music might have something to do with it....idk why, gut feeling.
and i think that we're looking at more than one easter egg? maybe, definitely on to something though. It's Bungie's thing,
someone already found a religious allusion in the game, another one of Bungie's old tricks.

good speech lol, nothings too geeky when you're talking about halo =) keep up the work guys

I don't know about this, but is there a chance that all of this could lead up to some type of avatar award? I've heard of a rumor about a secret room in ODST that can unlock some type of avatar award

I'm probably sure someone may have mentioned this already, but I really don't want to look through 28 pages of posts.

What about section/district 9?
The movie district 9 were made instead of a halo movie(?)
Maybe bungie did something with Distict 9 in the game?
Idk, perhaps an eater egg?

a.k.a. Daishi_NRE back in the day when b.net stood for Battle.net.

As for the Avatar rewards, it hasn't been mentioned here. But, it has been on other posts. It was said you get them for obtaining all achievements, but ppl that have all of them for both ODST and H3 say no. Would be interesting. However, the game was finished before the Avatar reward program was in place.
