I'm doubtful that the runes actually do anything, it sounds like that one door opening is a loading error rather than something intentional, but I did notice that the Y shape reminded me of a plasma pistol. Turns out the angle of the Y fits just right in the reticle of the plasma pistol. Dunno if anyone else noticed that yet, but if there is some secret maybe it involves plasma pistol. I tried messing around shooting glyphs in different ways but didn't get any kind of response.

Okay wtf I just did that thing in sector 6, went back to the room in sector 8 with the two engineers (that I had killed earlier), and found that all the glyphs that were there before weren't anymore. It was a bunch of those plain triangles and one huge circle liek the ones you see in the weapon cache except without the eyes. All missing. Is it because I killed the Engineers? Or is it from something else?

Honor Light Your Way, Our Blood Shall Forge A Thousand Generations!.

Maybe Bungie intentionally did this to laugh at us as we pull out our hair in frustration?

:D?

"Of course not, because that would be too conveinient!"

If someone were to send a message to a Bungie Employee and ask if we're on a good track, do you think they would respond? It seems we need some more motivation and a good nudge in the right direction.

This is somewhat off topic (or is it), but maybe the scarab gun is in Halo 3 ODST. I mean you are in the same place you find it in Halo 2. Maybe its there and they decided to add in little medals for finding and then killing people with it. Is it possible to SEE the area where the scarab gun is located in Halo 2? If so, try to get there. You may be rewarded.

Didn't saddie and her Police friend get in an elephant in the audio logs? Does this mean anything?

I also had this wierd encounter with a piece of litter near micky's drop pod. It had a picture of a magnum on it, and a few different word on it, including "pull here" with an arrow pointing down. At that point, the only thing that caught my attention about that piece was the detail on it; unlike most pieces of trash you see around, it was completly ledgible. I dismissed it and got distracted with trying to flip over the cover of the drop pod in search of a clue. There was no clue of the other side of the cover, but I realized this piece of trash had dissapeared.
My point is that we have all been overlooking these pieces of trash. I've already found a few easter eggs on them, like the bungie.net gorilla thing, and I think I saw an ID card of some type on another (if my screen was a higher resolution, I would have been able to read it).
As a side note, I found (by found I mean I didn't know about if before I stumbled upon it) an easter egg on the level "uplift reserve", near a BIG purple covenant structure that you go by as you're climbing up the hill (it's behind a mound of Dirt, next to a warthog, on the other side of the purple thing). It seems to be similar to the red vs blue easter egg on the level "rats nest" in halo 3. This time, there's a wounded marine on the ground that is saying strange things. I couldnt stop laughing long enough to think if there was any meaning behind it. Also, I assume the easter egg changes depending on the difficulty.

You can't spell GARBAGE without AR.

What you found would be one of those pistol ammo packets that were in Halo 1 and 2. They made a return in ODST. One of the things I wished for in Halo 3 was forgable ammo packets so you didn't have to place another weapon just to resupply players because you would be adding another of those weapons and offset the balance. Anyways I was disapointed about that they weren't even in Halo 3, but it's made a nostalgic comeback in ODST.

Anyways, when you walk over it, it gives you ammo. There's also ammo packets for AR, SMG, and box ammo for shotgun, sniper, and rockets.

BTW, it probably "disappeared" when you wasted a couple pistol rounds and then walked over it.

These things were all over the ODST campaign. If the packet was blue, it was pistol ammo, green/black for SMG, and red for AR.

Sega Mega Drive, Golden Axe and Sonic all day!

Hey hey, this is an interesting thread. I haven't read it all so sorry if I don't say anything new, but I'm slowly getting through it all.

Just the one thought for now. Somebody mentioned that the whole thing is to do with Vergil, or what's buried underneath him. Data Hive is the 7th level of the game, not including Mombasa Streets. Both the central story arc and Sadie's side story lead you through the Superintendents core, with one room only opening when both of these story arcs are coming to a head. Would it make sense that there is a clue/something of note in Data Hive? Perhaps in the room where you find the Vergil-Engineer? (Vergineer! lulz). And on the same note, has anyone found anything like this in any of the flashbacks?

  • 10.06.2009 4:14 PM PDT

By coincedence, I just happen to be searching through the Hive in the theater to take some pictures of some of the odd things. They won't be up for awhile, so you will have to wait a bit.

I know this aint new but I found some ID Cards with Bungie Employee pictures on it, though I know this isn't news I just wanted to put it here for people who don't know about it. Keep up the good work and I will join in the hunt when my rental for Burnout Paradise has to go back.

Anyone know if there's a way into that one blocked off part of sector 9? That's the only lit up part of the map that I can't get into. Do I have to get all the Audiophiles?

If you don't know what I'm talking about it's the bottom left of the entire map in sector 9. There are 2 ways blocked off by those huge bulbous energy shields and of course buildings block the rest. There is one long door that I found that leads to a pretty large room with many other long doors and doors with lights, but I can't open any of them that would lead to that part I need to get to.

So does anyone know anything?

Also, something I'd like to add is I've gone to one of the rooms with the two Engineers that has a big circle glyph in it. . . .I've gone 3 times and the first time there were glyphs, the second they dissapeared, and the third they came back again. If anyone could shed some light on this that'd be great.

Honor Light Your Way, Our Blood Shall Forge A Thousand Generations!.

Noticed a few things.

In sector six, there are tons of little bluish dig site lights glowing everywhere. I tried to destroy them with every weapon imaginable, but nothing happened. Finally, I used a beam rifle on the cinter, and the light exploded.

Ironically there is a beam rifle near the BELIEVE site.

When I shot the light, music came on, and the Engineers got pissed.

There are more lights like these, but they're all over district 6, and I think you have to destroy them all.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before (Hard to remember everything) but I have the doors open for Buck's first mission area (Where he can go upstaris to flank the Brutes) in the city at Night...Videos in my fileshare.

Sorry it's the 42 minutes or so of me messing around ;x Would really know how to verbally explained what I did/happened.

You know what I noticed? By pretty much every significant place (dead elites, triangles, etc.) there is a Beam Rifle with full ammo. Hmm. . . I will have to try this. Beam Rifle the glowing bulbs right?

Also BELIEVE. . . .7 letters. Coincidence?

I would like to know why the one section of the map is blocked off but not blackened out. Maybe this has something to do with the glyphics. Why else would they be there? It doesnt make sense to work on something that really has nothing to do with the relativ situation. I mean new mombasa is a battle ground between, obviously humans, brutes and apparently elites. Why would something of religous or cultural stature be involved with the war torn streets. Unless it has something to do with what they were digging for, or a kind of spell to keep the engineers in the area. There seems to be secerets to this game, but bungie did not add enough of a campaing to learn the story. Ive listened to the logs and ive payed attention to the story but i still dont understand much more than brutes are attacking new mombasa for something that they want from underneath it. I dont know what they want, why they want it but i killed brutes, jackals and grunts and saved virgil.
