has anyone notice that when you turn on your visor and zoom in on an empty sword that it has 7 markings on each side of it. they kind of remind me of the markings on the skulls

Think I found something don't know if anybody noticed this yet or anything. I was lookin around one of those "stonehonge"places(the one with a very big circle on the wall, a little waterfall, and two engineers) I decided not to instantly kill the engineers like I usually do, but just to follow them around and stuff. If you don't atack them for long enough, they start coming to you, sometimes letting down their shields etc. The thing I noticed is, that they are scared as hell of snipers.... If you walk with your smg, they come to you, start floating around you and all.

Then if you equip a sniper they fly away in fear, reactivating their shields, making squaking noises and folding together their bomb things...

Don't know if anybody noticed this yet

I saw that somebody mentioned about sacrificing yourself in the middle of the pillars in stonehenge. Well what if there is a way to get a brute or grunt in the middle and scrifice them. I would choose a brute since they are the ones that strap the bombs on the engineers. Something may happen then.

I am just brain storming. Sorry if somebody already mentioned this. It just seems like a good idea to tryout.

well, if the engineers follow you. then how about sacrificing one of them? or getting as many as you can in there and then killing them?

i thought that too, but can you actually get into all of them?
i know that most of them are for completing/getting par on missions, or getting the audio logs

im really not sure. if theyre there, theyre accesible somehow. i havent played mombassa streets at all, but if the stay, all youd have to do is get the mission completion ones, then play through Streets and get the rest.

on that note, i wonder how many there actually are.

Okay I unlocked all the audiophiles and there seems to be nothing different in Mombassa Streets yet. Still can't get into that one lit up part of the map on the southwest. More info as I keep going, but I think if there is any big secret, it is in the southwest part of the map that you can't enter.

Here's a little 1 min. clip showing how to get out of Mombasa streets. You can view the map by pressing back in the video:

Can anyone spare a render minute.

Happy Friday October 9th, from the SGP!

A new video is available which debuts "Bump Glitching!" It's the easiest way to get into the Dark Areas of Districts 00 and 09 and there are bound to be more secrets found using the technique. Here's the detailed explanation in case you're the inquisitive type.

Several folks have "bumped" into this technique by accident already... but we've explained it in a way that allows you to apply it reliably to any district!

Get bumping!

I've cut down a few things because quoting the whole post was not necessary.

Here is the link to it once again!

Snippets:

Quoting Joe Staten, he goes on to tell us that the glyphs depict stories, "not very clear-cut stories but they represent the shape of forerunner ships, etc."

I don't know why so many people have skipped over this cus no-one seems to be acknowledging it. Joe Staten himself clearly outline that the glyphs represent the shape of forerunner ships and that they tell a story. Wasn't the forerunning ship at the end of Halo 2 in that shape? So whatever pictures surround the Y glyph (aka the forerunner) ship have a direction correlation to that ship in regards to telling a story about it. At least, that's my best summation at this point in time.

Quoting Lars Bakken, he goes on to talk about finding all of the terminals in New Mombasa makes "something unique" happen that is "pure fan service."

This would be interesting to investigate, any takers?

Beware Big Brother, they go on to briefly talk about the SI monitoring you moving throughout the city, and is tracking when you unlock new areas and is following you.

Perhaps the opening doors are an interaction/reaction from the SI? Perhaps when you zoom in on his picture on the glyphs, he is in fact monitoring you and reacts to it? I don't know, just speculating here.

We're definitely headed in the right direction.

Edit: One more thing I wanted to add was that in the novels, the Engineers aren't a harmful race (even in the game). There is an instance !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! in one of the novels where an Engineer actually repairs the Master Chief's armor (if I recall correctly)!!!END OF SPOILER!!!. Perhaps if you hang around the Engineers long enough they can do something beneficial for you? Like in the cutscene where you find the crashpad but no-one's in there, right before the Engineer gets sniped in the noggin.

I think the "Y" shaped symbols have been drawn by the engineers as a way of mourning the Elites. I think they liked the elites as they were probably treated much better and the brutes do bad things to them =(

That is exactly right the elites treated the engineers with respect and awe. So did the prophets. The brutes treated them with oonly fragmented respect and as disposable tools.

As I was sitting in one of the rooms WITHOUT the Stonhenge things but they still show up on the map. and In mickeys as far as I know there are impressions in the ground where you show up and I was thinking Maybe if you could somehow lead an engineer in there maybe he will do something. ressurect them or etc...

Maybe, and this all speculation, the secret is an Elite. It makes sense because the symbols have something to do with the engineers and the Elites treated the engineers well and a lot of people wanted Elites in the game. Now, we know Elites are in the coding of the game because we have seen some dead ones in the city and, as some one stated earlier, a Bungie employee said that thier was an easter egg in the game that was for "pure fan satisfaction". To me it looks like maybe an Elite is somewhere in the city.

That video just made this find more intresting. It worked. I have opened all the doors in the crater square with all the glyphs and I opened a door that couldnt b opened b4. Im going to my file share right now to get pics, I guess Bungie didnt want vids in ODST so they can make this search a lil harder.

I am online right now in theater, if anyone wants to join and watch feel free GT: Dam Its Iceman

STBY(sucks to be you)

http://www.bungie.net/fanclub/338368/Group/GroupHome.aspx Join us, stop them.

Well, ya know, every time I enter a Supply Cache, I see the SI drawn up like one of the "Y" emblems... and if you go to DAREs crash site at night(not during firefight) and you start looking around, you can see that many of the "Y" things, have a SI face on it and ONE has all three as the SI.

AND after I beat the game on Legendary, I went to the first Supply Cache and found a Mongoose(yes, those little ATV things we love.) well, it made my job of finding these dang Audio files a *bit* easier... but I then went to other ones and learned that you can also get ROCKETS. um, I dont think I should have that during a night mission. I did notice though, that next to each thing in a Supply Cache is a marking, that is Identical to every other one next to something in a Supply Cache.

Also, these markings are near each one of the Beacons, Supply Cache's, and DROP PODS... now I noticed that there are a lot more Drop pods than There should be so I started to look around for them. I have so far found some where around 20 diffrent drop pods.

My Question is... WHAT drew these things, and can ANYONE decipher these "Doodles".

It's pretty much agreed upon that the engineers drew them.
