WhiteCastles,Beer, and Halo3; HELLLLL YEAH BIATCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone thought of asking Bungie directly?

  • 10.11.2009 11:11 PM PDT

Bungie's not gonna make it that easy. I believe that what we are looking for is in one of the blackened sectors, its just a matter of finding the trigger to cause whatever is in those sectors to appear. When the time comes that we find that trigger, you'll understand. But until then, I believe these sectors are completely useless to us. I have no doubt that EVENTUALLY we will be allowed into these sectors for some reason, whether it be a certain date (Bungie Day, etc...) or simply doing something in a sequential order. If Bungie made such a big effort to hide whatever it is (if it is anything), simple glitching will not get you what you want.

Before you turn a corner in the game, the area needs to render. Hence the Loading... Done's and Checkpoints. Even the parts of the map made to be explored just by playing the game have to be triggered by passing a certain point to get it to render.

String Theory. The symbols are almost identical. The string theory is suggesting that 2 realities make one. It could be talkin about the 2 realities the rookie goes into (New Mombasa as himself and then the flashbacks) or maybe there is a slim chance its talkin about Halo 2 New Mombasa and ODST's New Mombasa. Maybe at one point in ODST, you come across a place that you saw in Halo 2. So maybe if someone goes out, into the blackened areas, their might be a place the resembles part of Halo 2's Mombasa. I dunno, just a though. It wouldnt hurt to check.

Wow thats pretty cool.

In reading that I had thought, maybe we should try going to the stone hedge places and otehr areas where glyphs appear during flashbacks and see if anything is different from the rookies point of view?

Looking to hook up with some competent players! Please PM me if you want a decent team mate, looking to learn from good players and impart what I know to the team too. Im sick of going 'randy' and getting betrayed for the sniper etc.. and having to put up with BK team mates

A few theories and things I have noticed about the glyphs in ODST:

Some are simply a three pronged shape, I have seen similar shapes like this used in quantum physics string theory. It describes two intersecting strings conjoining see here (I know its wiki, but string theory is a very ambiguous science at the moment anyway)
Perhaps its suggesting alternate realities within ODST? This may have something to do with when you find a beacon and you jump from rookie to that particular reality, they represent the two realities colliding... Or perhaps even something else...

Also some of the Glyphs have pictures in each segment of them, the pictures to me look like possible map locations. There is a circle, then what could be a map layout in its middle, the trick might be to find those particular locations that resemble the pictures in map layout? Or perhaps at least in multi play coop mode, finding those seperate locations at the same time, perhaps this will unlock something, who knows? The glyphs are really only clear in VISR mode, this may suggest that perhaps what ever the secret may be (If at all) it will only really be found easily in VISR mode.

Another thing is they could be a map locations for the audiofiles if you havent noticed each audio file is divided into three parts or 'Circles' then the circles are divided into 'Arcs' (eg Circle 1 Arc 1 Circle 1 Arc 2 Circle 1 Arc 3 then onto Circle 2 Arc 1 etc...) This may be their only purpose, some have said that the glyphs change though I haven't noticed this, it maybe because their changing may reflect how many audiofiles you have unlocked? Im aware that the weapons cache's open up depending on how many audiofiles you find so the ones you see with the SI's face may indicate that this 'circle' is complete because you have found all three 'arc's'.

Thats about all Ive got at the moment, might mean nothing but food for thought all the same?

I posted this in page 38 so I thought I'd dig it up again for you as it may be relevant. Perhaps the glyphs have map locations on them between each triad of the intersecting string. They sure look like they may be map locations. It could mean that either two ODST's need to occupy the two bottom map locations of the triad and perhaps the third location will offer up its secret, or maybe three players must occupy all the locations which will unlock something? Maybe even a fourth is needed? These glyphs need to be 'photographed' very closely in theater mode, then they need to be photo copied and matched up against the New Mombassa street map. Possibly a pattern may emerge. Here is a map of New Mombassa. If I had the time I would do it myself. We may identify the sites at which these Glyphs reveal, but its what to do once we find them thats going to be the tricky part. I noticed that the 'map location' glyphs have a circle around them that have a broken section of the circle, perhaps this is the place where the ODST must occupy to 'complete the circle'(remember the IWHBYD skull on H3, you had to jump through rings?), once all ODST's are in position maybe the secret will be revealed. I noticed there is a room with two engineers and a gigantic circle glyph on one of the walls. I think its the one with the 'water fall wall' (Correct me if Im wrong). A theory I have is once each ODST is in place at their particular map referance point in the section where the circle is broken to complete it, this circle may give up its secret?

Perhaps even four players need to be standing in the various 'stone henge' rooms and dig sites at the same time? Its worth a try but ultimately if the Glyphs do incicate map locations + the location as to where the ODST must stand, we need to get them identified and then perhaps try my method, and by then hope we have worked the rest of the mystery out....

Just a few more thoughts for all the egg hunters out there.

About the glyphes. Do any of you think that any of these Glyphes would have anything to do with Dante's Divine Comedy. I think it's clear that ODST and the Comedy are connnected so maybe the glyphes are a reference. Here is the link to the thread that discusssed this. Here

Hmmm...I wonder if it could pssible have anything to do with the rumors of Master Chief and the Marathon Universe? I know it sounds far fetched, but I just wanted to be part of the discussion.

And I think the Stonehenge things definately have something to do with it.

Go to threater mode save the film and render the video on Bungie.net (I don't know how to get a saved film on youtube either) but even if it means nothing I still give you props just for getting on a phantom.

Good post!
Here`s what I think:
I think that reason that the "empty blocks" in weapon spree section are there not grayed out, because it would not look normal.
At the bottom it`s normal because thats where stuff usually ends..at the bottom.

and please dont bring up Halo 3 medal chest here,it is much older and to be honest,it does look much messy and uncategorized(sp?)

IMHO you are just overthinking things, now shall we stop finding this sword,or should we try find it like people did with Golden Warthog?

Did they ever find the Golden Warthog?

I don't know if this would help anybody but if you are trying to search the streets of Mombassa this video could be of help:

Get on top of Mombassas buildings

the map shows they are in the blacked out section. let me know if this helps or works for anyone.

interesting thought about the world lines and alternate realities.

there is a place in the streets where they are a lot of glyphs, but they change, seemingly randomly. it seems that reality is different each time we play the game (note that the game focuses on nonlinearity) also the numbers on the unsc barriers change. it is possible that we must complete certain tasks in each reality before another appears, the one in which the answer lies.

also, there has to be something in those darkened sectors. why put them in the game if there's nothing to be done/found there?

also note that these glyphs have 3 sections. there are 3 stonehenge rooms.possibly a different task has to be done in each of these rooms, shown by the glyphs.

Laughing At Nothing

Okay here's an update on what we've found.

First, off, we think a lot of this relates to hell, and the mark of the beast. Why?

The Hebrew "Y"(Vev) actually stands for 6. Six is VERY, VERY important. There are Six Pillars, Six main Characters, and something else... I'll get to that.

Looking at "Y", it has 3 outward points, and stands for 6. Three sixes is the Mark of the Beast. So, this is insinuating some Dark and fiery things... So I thought back to another thread a while ago. This all fits in very PERFECTLY.

In Dante's Inferno there were 9 Levels of hell. The 6th Level downward is The City of Din. We are very sure that Street level stands for the 6th level of hell, and all of this story is taking place in a city. This supports our the Hell On Earth, City of Din theory. Where does Stonehenge fit into this? Like I stated earlier there were dead Elites killed at every Glyph site, and they WERE killed by Brutes (Permanent Spikes are lodged in some of the Pillars). These Elites were killed for Heresy (leaving the Covenant). The Sixth Level of Hell is for HERETICS. It all fits.

Furthermore to prove this theory, here's some other things we found, and another personal theory. When you descend underground you stop at the 7th Level. There is a policeman down there. The seventh level is for crimes against people, harm, etc. You spend an eternity getting bombarded by arrows on the 7th Level. When you go to the 8th level, the S.I. locks the policeman from going downward, and says "Crime Doesn't Pay". The Policeman is killed by Plasma bolts.

The player at this point can see that the level is getting colder, and by the time he reaches the 9th level it is freezing. The 9th Level of hell is suppose to be freezing, and the resting place of Lucifer himself.

Now this is My Theory. I'm very sure that the S.I. is Rampant, Dare was sent to retrieve him AND the Engineer as a side mission. The S.I. MADE ALL of the Glyphs, evident because the player can only see the Glyphs through VISR mode. He kills people off, and sends out Satanic messages because he his losing his mind. The loss of the S.I. to the Covenant would be devastating, so Dare is killing three birds with one stone. Another clue goes all the way back to Stonehenge. The Single S.I. glyph is sad, and Lucifer is eternally sorrowful. He is damned farthest from God. The S.I. stands for Lucifer.

Again, I want to do more research but this is what I've got.

TL;DR

The Super Intendant is "Lucifer", and the Glyphs are the Mark Of The Beast.
