http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/02/halo-3-odst-controller-pics -hold-clues-into-new-mombasa-mysteri/

i found this and it says that a bungie employee said the numbers will solve somthing. BING BING! that has to be it, thats what im going with.

Thank you for confirming that the numbers have something to do with it and that it solves something. Now we just have to figure out what the numbers mean. We need to see if that order for the audio logs work at Stonehenge or at the Da Vinci map.

We're one step closer to solving this.

Where is this da vinci code or map on ODST???

Could someone who as the ODST controller clear something up for me?
in the middle of this image there is a sequence of numbers that appears a few times "55.6992.3840" in this instance there is some text and other numbering around it, you cant make it out in that image but above it there appears to be the words last set. could someone tell me what all that text says?

thanks

We have been raised for combat...
We carry our banner to our fights...
Alone we are a menace, together we are a threat...
Born to raise hell, live to drop back in it...
Never retreat, never surrender... we are spartans.

I'm new in this topic but i think it's related to engineers...
the glyphs, the bigger ones are usually found near enginners if you look carefully, once i saw a really big one (covering the entire wall) near two engineers, but after i killed them for the naughty naught achievement it disapeared.
I also believe it has something to do with the elites, since i also found near them, but thats just me, i could be rong and i don't know if any one mentioned this...

I found this on a fourm (I never tried it) but when the S.I is search the city in the bottom right hand corner is the time on your xbox EX. 4 clock it's 16.0.0. So this could be like something to do with the numbers on the controller.

In Soviet Russia, vehicles can last longer that 30 seconds.

In Soviet Russia, cookie win you.

all the dead elites were heretics and were righting their religion and conspiracies within the glyphs. buck says that it they look like they were slaughtered by brutes because they were slaughtered by brutes for their high treason among the theology of the prophets and the idea of the great journey.

OK, would someone please explain where these places are:

Elite Stonehenge

Da Vinci level

Thanks, i'm sorta out of tune...if anybody could clear this up, that would be great

This is the Da Vinci 'map', basically a large flat area with the same texture as the Sandtrap Easter Eggs (which were a texture test, I think). Was it comfirmed that the Sandtrap ones send off lasers to the mines in the map? If so, there may be something special about this one.

Not sure about the Stonehenge.

Another suggestion:
When I was looking for the second to last audio log, I came across some signs which led me through the base of the building where you find Dare's helmet. The trail stopped as I stepped outside near the crater. It turned out that the audio log was near the other side of the city so I assumed that those signs were glitchy.

Maybe not...

"Wake me...when you need me."

Thread saved. Freaking awesome!

Basically, I make the best topics ever.

Feedback!
Duardo: This thread is locked for being stupid.
cortana 5 : It's perpetually my time of the month and I'm just grouchy.
Foman: I see absolutely no reason, either theoretical or practical, that this is not a superb idea. Excellent work, my friend.

I don't know if anyone has tried this but maybe the numbers on the ODST controller are coordinates. Use the button combo to turn on the numbers in camera mode, go to the coordinates that are on the controller and maybe that will be the solution. Just a thought...

Actually, is there even a button combo on ODST? I assumed there was one since it is the same engine as H:3, but I'm not sure.

To play or not to play....

here are lots of numbers and letters on the controller. Who knows what any of it means?

  • 11.11.2009 5:00 AM PDT

For every Halo game there's a secret of Sandtrap thread...

This whole concept is ridiculous to be honest. But you guys have fun wasting your time.

So since it was confirmed that there was a secret that hasn't been found yet, in connection to the numbers on the controller, we're wasting our time? Take the time to read the WHOLE thread dude.

Didn't someone say somehing about burnt offerings? What if you have two flame nade's and burned the elites dead bodies, or maybe the squids?

Ok well I tried both and unless I did something wrong id didn't work. ONLY mysterious thing was dare's pod dissapeared from where it should have been when I was running around the city.

It may be called a Da Vinci map, but there is no code hidden in the sequence of letters. The only "code" or more accurately, "connection", would be the event that it triggers.

I don't really see how someone could prove that those rainbow balls on top of the lasers in Sand Box (y'all say Sandtrap...) actually shoot the lasers given that they cannot be moved from their location nor can you move or alter their properties.

I might be wrong.

CHECK OUT THIS POST!

Here is a map. The purple is engineers and the number is how many there are at that location. K, now look at it. The purple dots look like an arrow, right? Well... You see that yellow. If you go there, its blocked off by forcefields... Long story put short.

Something is there. Alot of people keep telling me there isnt because they've looked around alot. But frankly... I have a gut feeling. Something is there and I'm gonna find it.

I believe you just found something. How do you get into sector 9(is it the one near uplift, Or is it closed off)?

I think you might be on to something too. I've always wondered why that section was brightened up on the map, but it was blocked off by the shields. It's the only place in New Mombossa that is blocked off when you are the rookie, but like I said, the map is brightened like you can go there. I'm going to go and try to fly over it in the movie camera and I'll see what I can find.

OK I have a theory, perhaps if you stand facing the barrier or in a certain spot and then play the audio logs in the order paralell to the numbers on the controller (23:03:28:30, Audio log 23, 03, 28, and then 30) it will open the barrier or something to that effect. Who knows.

I'm just mixing other peoples ideas right now, but as I am a n00b and haven't collected all the audio logs yet someone else is going to have to test this.

Happy hunting =]

Im gonna join in on this search for an energy sword :D what can I do to help?

  • 11.12.2009 2:33 PM PDT

reading over this and just thought, burn 2 offerings in the center, killing both engineers would be a pain but if you move both elites to the center and burn them with the engineers still alive they may do something.

also i was playing earlier and as per my normal habit of getting vehicles into areas that they wouldn't normally be i placed the ghost in the middle of stonehenge and had all 3 dig site lamps lit... it could be that i was close enough to 2 and the engineers were hovering over the other (which they were) but that seemed to cause the engineers to act differently

one final thought that just hit me, maybe restore the covenant could be just reload the carbine, it is called the covenant carbine and there is the one right at stonehenge
