Here is a map. The purple is engineers and the number is how many there are at that location. K, now look at it. The purple dots look like an arrow, right? Well... You see that yellow. If you go there, its blocked off by forcefields... Long story put short.

Something is there. Alot of people keep telling me there isnt because they've looked around alot. But frankly... I have a gut feeling. Something is there and I'm gonna find it.

There is a glitch that you can get a banshee and fly anywhere but i dont know how to do it. Can someone perhaps do that and tell us if you can get into section 9? Also tell us what you find?

Been playing since pong, and you?

Sorry guy i started the following as a new topic instead of a reply. But I have found ODST controller numbers in New Mombasa at night. Please read my post. Pics are in my file share.

The ODST controller numbers are as follows. The first part has not been figuered out yet.
KIKOWANI.0624.
23:03:28:30

The second part I have located on Hub door signs. Pics are in my fileshare.
82002 383832 727777
55.6992.3840
I am still trying to solve the first part with PAN CAM. But I believe the nuber set refers to a location, time, and door.

What's up? You can call me Phil. I love to play Battlefield 3!

This is a really interesting read. I doubt there will be DLC for ODST though, since Bungie is working on Halo: Reach.

The other day as I went to bungie.net, I noticed that the header of site said "The tru7h, the whole tru7h, and no7hing but the tru7h"

and then shortly after, a new one that said "There will be a Payoff"

and now, "Bungie 1, world 0"
I think they're hinting on something

To play or not to play....

A few observations I have made so far in relation to the glyphs.

The glyphs appears where the engineers appear or have been. The glyphs also appear near dead Elites. Though the ones near the dead Elites are different to the others in that they are just a sort of blank symbol being the Y shape. no extra detail to it.

When ever you see engineers in the game you can bet there will be glyphs nearby. These glyphs are very detailed and quite abundant. The engineers really do write alot of stuff down. What it means is anyones guess.

The glyphs also appear where you find beacons throughout the game. I assume the idea is that the engineers have visited those locations and marked them to try and help the ODST. These symbols seem quite abundant and detailed so it is likely the engineers wrote them.

I am in the process of aquiring screenshots. I will post them as soon as I can.

reading over this and just thought, burn 2 offerings in the center, killing both engineers would be a pain but if you move both elites to the center and burn them with the engineers still alive they may do something.

also i was playing earlier and as per my normal habit of getting vehicles into areas that they wouldn't normally be i placed the ghost in the middle of stonehenge and had all 3 dig site lamps lit... it could be that i was close enough to 2 and the engineers were hovering over the other (which they were) but that seemed to cause the engineers to act differently

one final thought that just hit me, maybe restore the covenant could be just reload the carbine, it is called the covenant carbine and there is the one right at stonehenge

Wait, where did you find a drivable ghost as the Rookie?

OMG This thread is 67 pages long! If we are going to solve this thing. We need a more effecient way of compiling all of our ideas, organizing them and putting them into practice.

Ideas anyone!

A website would probrably be our best bet, maybe a facebook page even?

I'm assuming he hi-jacked the one that that brute had.

A thought just occured to me.

In Halo 3 mythbusters on Youtube, they proved that you can get sword sprees with empty swords. So couldn't you use the empty sword in the Buck level to get the medals?

Another thing

Aren't there glyphs in the weapon cahce areas? But you can only see them in VISR mode.

not sure if this will help but in halo2 on the first few missions in mombassa (new or old i cant remember) i think there is a sword some where, and odst is between halo2 and 3 right? there were probably more swords out there during halo2 so there still could be one lying around

Factual, there are glyphs in the caches, and you can see them without VISR, their just very, very faint without VISR.

Cool, so does that mean anything?

  • 11.15.2009 3:26 PM PDT

maybe the engineers put the weapons there

I made this post 2 pages back....

I just elevator jumped over the barrier intothe lit up sector 9 part thats sheilded off, and got into the sheilded off part. The film ids in my file share if anyone doesn't beleive me. Once over the barrier it is just like any other black area of the map with no glyphs or enemies. there are 4 entrances to the underground though which split off in two directions, but once there, there are two black walls which you cannot go through. I did it on easy, so there might be different results on legendary or other difficulties. I will have pics up soon maybe by towmmorow.

This was already discussed. You can't pick up the empty sword...

Don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive anyway.

Australia

I think its safe to say after this amount of time and effort gone into this, that there is no sword in ODST. It's like the secret of sand-trap all over again....
