To play or not to play....

I think its safe to say after this amount of time and effort gone into this, that there is no sword in ODST. It's like the secret of sand-trap all over again....

Yes the sword in ODST is the key to unlock the secret of sandtrap. I know it to be trueeeeeeee...................

Seriously though I don't know what secrets lay unlocked in ODST but I am betting my bottom dollar there are a few yet to be found.

I doubt there is a sword in ODST much less you being able to use it. In all reality it would burn the ODST's hand off.

Why would Engineers put the weapons in there? Any unknowing soldier would use those very weapons to kill the Engineers. Like me >=).

An Engineer combined itself with the SI, so the other engineers would relise that he is important and try to help the ODSTs to find it. They knew that Dare was friendly so they probrebly realised that the ODST could be allies. So they paint glyphs in places of interest including near beacons and they set up weapon cahces. The big SI picture means "use these to help the SI!"

Oh, and about your Stonhenge discovery. Somewhere earlier on in this thread, someone discovered that that engineer shines its light on a number of the pillars in sequence. When he shot at the pillars with the crabine nar the pillars a new kind of music started to play.

The ODST's are ultimately trying to save Virgil so the engineers are happy to help the ODST's in any way they can. Dare, and eventually humanity, is also trying to help the engineers and set them free. So that is another reason the engineers like to help or assist by drawing attention to weapon drops by marking them with symbols.

At first I thought the "Y" symbols were navigation information for aliens, being on a wierd planet and all...but I found them somewhere not likely to support that.

erm this 'wierd planet' is earth ;)
unless you meant the aliens are on a wierd planet then i take back what i said ^__^

If you think you've got lag just think how jesus felt, it took him three days to respawn.

It was/is worth the challenge trying to find this sword it brings the community closer. Anyway its probably in the must obvious place or maybe we are just trying to hard to find it.

Maybe simply there isnt one but only bungie can say that there is and there is not.

sorry but what is the secret of sandtrap? And even if it isnt a sword that is the secret, there's definitly something. UNLESS...Bungie is making us all insane by searching for it but there really isnt anything...therefore furthering their plan for world domination.

Just found a possible idea for the theory that this is like IWHBYD.I'll have to draw a diagram, so here goes.

District 6

StoneHenge room:

(Sorry about the stonehenge, the forums won't let me do spacing like I need just imagine that thy're in a circle)

Starting with the bottom left pillar, going CLOCKWISE, I'll number the bottom left #1, the one above it #2, top left #3, etc etc.

The bottom left is also the one with the Sad SI symbol.

Now, to the point of the post. When you walk in, either from the security door or the other door, there are two engineers. When you walk in just a little bit, they do not notice you.

One (for me and some others) starts to examine with it's light one of the pillars.. Then it moves on to a different one, then a different, etc. I watched this and recorded the pattern of it observing pillars in this order, according to the numbering I mentioned earlier: 2,1,3,5,3,5,3,3.

This is what I saw, but then they noticed me and started flying around. I don't know if the pattern will be different for others. I tried to shoot the pillars with the carbine on the ground, and it seemed that some new music played that I hadn't heard before. I'll try some more, but I think this could be a type of lead.

Well that's Stonehenge solved! It's new music! That's why the engineers marked it as a piont of interest... because they really like music!

I'm confused about your Dare theory. The place were she dropped is in a different place to where here drop pod dropped? Anyway plasma batterys are very fun. Engineers must also see them as fun, maybe not for the same reason we like them but maybe because they like to use them in their engineering projects... i'm not really sure what i'm saying... maybe if you explain more about Dare. They probrably just want you to find her so that she can tell you to help the SI

I need help with easter egg hunt now. send me a friend request

 • 11.16.2009 8:04 PM PDT

HE was implying that there's 2 amphitheater-esk areas, much like the place that Dare's pod dropped. Also the Plasma batteries are used as light devices also (Read Contact Harvest). And since it is night-time having plenty around would be ideal, even though Engineers don't need light really...

Trust me you don't want to know, there was a thread like this x10 tring to find the secret of sandtrap. Then bungie had to fuel the H3 forum by suggesting It's a barren wasteland, or is it? GawD, back in its hayday the H3 forums were virtually impossible to patrol.

(05:44:22 AM) ENORP: how about them mexican hostz

Well, Sentry33, I feel something coming along from Bungie that may sound like, "Guys, it's just a couple of rock slabs with weird letters on it... or is it?"

Well I am glad someone cleared that up for me *just joking*

Seriously though. Thinking about it all maybe an ODST could use a sword without any problems. That marine guy used one to kill the arbiter in Halo Wars and it didn't burn his hands or cause any problems for him.

It would after all be a bit silly for the Elites to create a sword that literally burned their hands. Even if they had armour an what not it would still be silly to make a weapon that damged the armour on their hands. Especially since the weapon was favoured by the Elites as a weapon of honour or true skill (something like that).

Of course we are dealing with the Haloverse of course where we know magic can happen :)

I hate this guy.

or maybe we are just trying to hard to find it.

End of topic.

 • 11.17.2009 12:26 PM PDT

Oh ok, there is the place where Dare dropped and there are two amhitheater-esk areas that are similar to place where she dropped and they all have glyphs. They marked Dare's drop zone because they know that she is trying to help them (that was here mission all along) side and they want the other ODST's to find her so that she can tell them what's going on so that they can all go to help the SI. We know that one of the ampitheatres has secret music, but the secret of the second ampitheatre has yet to be revealed. All we know is that there are some brutes, engineers and some plasma batteries (apparently for light (which engineers need (they have eyes! And they don't have in-built flashlights! They must need light.))) More investigation is required. Who is going to take up this task?

Been playing since pong, and you?

I was noticing that the engineer symbol near dead elites was am empty Y shape. This is unlike the other symbols placed by engineers with the other characters in the empty spaces of the Y. So I got to thinking especially at stone henge. Where the saD SI symbol is above the open Y on a pillar. The sad face is an Engineer right. So the open Y shape must mean Elite. Since the open Y symbol is found near dead Elites. So one could conclude the other sybols in the Y stand for Brute,Jackle,Grunt. This would mean that the entire symbol simply means "The Covenant". IT really does make sense. Without the Elites the is no true Covenant. Thats why the Y is empty. The Covenant is broken
