@ Mushroomy,
halourmomma & imma are both correct, Sgt John Forge is a normal human and was
able to kill the Arbiter with a sword.

If you look at the mentioned cutscene (Halo Wars lvl 15), Forge is about a shoulders
height of a Spartan, and a Spartan is slightly shorter than an Elite.

I too have a magical fading code of awesome on that thingy.

I didn't state that SGT Forge was a spartan and did not mean to imply it, i was just stating the height difference of a spartan compared to an elite as an example of why an ODST would not be able to yield and Energy Sword, even though Sgt Forge did.

I think the "Y" shaped symbols have been drawn by the engineers as a way of mourning the Elites. I think they liked the elites as they were probably treated much better and the brutes do bad things to them =(

That sounds like a good idea. That sounds like something that Bungie would do. Just a thought, what if you moved a body of an elite from the area where the brutes and elites were fighting to each of the "stonehenge" areas? :l

You couldn't get them to all three, since the game engine can maintain only 2 districts. You could get them to THE Stonehenge, though.
[But it would take helluva time.]

I donno how the discussion has shifted, but by now its probably just a myth, I mean, there could have been swords in the game originally and then Bungie decided to take them out near the end. Instead of redesign the webpage for medal stats, which probably took a good bit of work, to have the swords removed, they simply "hid" them.

Yeah, just sounds like a repeat of the Flood Juggernaut from Halo 2 to me. Just in a different form. Interesting read though!

Spartans never die, they just go missing in action.

Question....How could any of this even take place? I mean this game takes place just after the explosion of new mombasa city in Halo 2. Sooo if the city was suppose to be obliterated, how could any buildings or anything in the city be left. Also why would there be the need of the covenant to come back to the city when the finished what they did in Halo 2. So there would also be no need for the ODST to step in thus renedering no game should have been made around the storyline of the city

He asked me, don't take my moment of glory!
But he is right, the explosion happened over Old Mombasa, leaving the New Mombasa untouched.
FYI, the Portal to thee Arc located near Mombasa, they stayed. Also, they needed to kill Virgil (the Engineer) to avoid security leak.
Happy?
[That was pretty off topic btw...]

3. There is a Sword somewhere in the game, that is meant to be either unlocked or found, and this is what I will focus on for the rest of the thread.
And so the hunt for the sacred sword begins! Haha! :D

I agree with this idea since there was a Scarab Gun in Halo 2.

There is a certain point of tolerance that should never be reached.

I hate to say it, but I think we're screwed. I doubt that we'll find it. WE SUCK!

I agree, the people at bungie are reall good at hiding something that takes a good amount of work to find... it also keeps us

But what about the glyphs in the game? They have to mean something?

Most of them can be explained. The common ones are there to be clues or signposts, if you want, and the Empty glyphs are there to respect the fallen Elites. Infact, the only glyph without a good meaning is the Super TriGlyph (this, and even it could be explained by the fact that it is next to the seemingly biggest weapon cache of Covenant. (I refuse to believe that though. :P)
Yet I believe there is still something! Keep looking into this!

I think it is really because the game designers wanted to have a little modding fun of their own when the game was in the stages if being made so they added a sword and had some fun. Maybe they wanted to butterfly jump Halo 2 style and do some cool stuff of their own. Who knows?

Could the fact that where you find two sword hilts near a dead elite in Tayari Plaza, right next to them is the word "BELIEVE"? It could be just an easter egg to halo 3 that just happened to be next to swords, obviously. Or could it be "BELIEVE" as in "believe there are swords, because it's true." Just a thought.
