ODST only came out a year and a half ago.

Has anyone thought of the glyphs being triangulating trackers? i mean, if someone hasn't already, post a map that showa where every glyph is, then triangulate their coordinates to a certain location. This point will either have the sword, more clues, or a different easter egg. If someone can post a map I can pinpoint the general area for you. I think we are onto something, as I am in the campaign of Halo: Reach. If one goes to a campaign level in Reach with an easter egg in it then emphasizes the placement of ammo, health, and the level ending point, one can pinpoint the location of the easter egg within a 100m radius of the intersection. This is kind of difficult to do, but it's worth it once you find what you're looking for. In addition, how many glyphs/glyph locations are in Halo 3: ODST? most likely a number with 7 in it, but it may provide for another clue if we count dead elites.

The best event in the Halo series was the grunt rebellion!

Listen to some of this on, this site.

Don't die keep it alive! I haven't found anything, but I have a few irrelevant clues...

Also, I don't think there are more easter eggs to be found... there are the mandatory hidden scene with a monkeyman + Buck (that's a triple easter egg there), Siege of Madrigal and crazy marine... then there are all the graffitis, ID badges, and licence plates... what more could there be... a talking Grunt?

I currently am working on Halo Wars achievements. 4 to go.
I currently am working on Halo 2 achievements.
I currently have all Halo 3 achievements.
I currently have all Halo 3:ODST achievements.
I currently have all Halo: Reach achievements.

It's kinda upsetting that we don't even know the point of these glyphs. That was truly one of the most interesting things in ODST...

The glyphs are the engineers mourning for their fellow Elites, and helping you to find your way out of the city.

Well...

That was anticlimactic.

Long story short. Often the greatest mysteries turn out to be rather bland.

Most propably the medals are there because the sword was going to be in at first or that they just forgot to remove it from the chest.

Ich bin ein Berliner.

havent read all the posts, but maybe if you find the exact center between the "stonehenge" areas as mentioned in earlier posts, it may form the "Y" symbol, and that would lead to something,....

  • 04.09.2011 1:17 PM PDT

As the wave of emotion of the Flood attack washed over me something inside turned cold and although I had been effectively killing Covenant for a long time, a new steel was forged within me... I knew that to get out alive I had to kill every last one of these S.O.B's. I did it, stole the index from the library and blew up the ring world known as Halo, but I knew this wasn't the end... It was only just beginning.

Well... Actually during the cutscene of the one mission when you are Romeo, at the end of the miission. When the Hammer Brute hits the New Mombasa Police soldier, a Battle Rifle flies through the air! You only see it for a brief second or two though, so I hope someone sees this... Oh! My other account got banned so if you check my stats on anything but Reach, it will say I have not played it. Because I just made this account.

End of discussion. :(
Well, hopefully not. The triglyph still has no real explanation for itself. And it's still pretty weird, don't you think?

The mystery lives...

Perhaps the glyphs themselves are points on the map. Maybe the center of the 'Y' is a stonehenge, and the three symbols represent supply caches or more stonehenges that have an invisible button or something like with Reach Racer and the hidden banshees on The Package. Or the symbols mean Covenant words and can be translated to tell where the sword or something else is... Or they just translate into a date or coordinates or something else.

I think the "Y" shaped symbols have been drawn by the engineers as a way of mourning the Elites. I think they liked the elites as they were probably treated much better and the brutes do bad things to them =(

But why a Y?

lolnope.

I have the covenant alphabet in my possession. Give me a minute to upload a photo of it to my photobucket account. I've had it for a couple months and I think it may help us decipher what is written on the walls of Mombasa Streets in ODST.

EDIT: -blam!-! My photobucket account won't let me upload it. Give me another moment and I'll provide a link to the image some other way.

2nd EDIT: Boom. I hope this helps you guys someway! =)

Cool, though we really have no use for it, since the Y-glyphs aren't these kinds of glyphs. Thanks anyway!

Do you have a reliable source which can confirm this symbol-letter association is correct?
