Guys, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, please. Calling him a moron and then laughing at him for what is really a considerable idea is rude and your reactions reflect on the rest of the community. Try to be nice, okay?
Anyhow, Bungie has mentioned no plans to make Halo 2 for the PC, and there's a good chance that it won't happen. This is not due to the "making money for the XBox" theory that's so popular, because console games aren't threatened at all by the sale of PC games. Not at all.
What IS the truth of the situation is that Bungie has fasioned themselves into a console game developer. A premier developer at that. Working on a dual platform version of the same game would add even more time to Bungie's Halo 2 timetable, and they dislike sticking to one thing for too long. This is why, if Halo 2 is to be ported to the PC, Bungie will set up a contract with an outside developer, as was done with Halo PC. However, we know Gearbox won't have any part of a Halo 2 port because Randy Pitchford made it clear that no offer was made or being made near the end of Halo PC's development.
So, to summarize, chances are slim that there'll be a Halo 2 for the PC.
