Bungie would have to go through Microsoft in order to do something like this. MS owns the IP, which means that its their production schedule/deadline within the allotted agreements between the two companies.
Normally, I would say no to this, as Reach has supposedly had three years of development time, but honestly, three years of development time has proven to provide many disappointments for the last two major installments of the franchise.
They once said that they wouldn't release their game until it was 100% ready. I kind of wish that they would actually stay true to that. The sad, real truth, however, is that they can't put the release off until every little nook and cranny is perfect. It's the way of the world and business is business.
