I think he's got something here.

I rather like the idea that they work until it's ready and not a moment sooner. That's how Blizzard operates, and they're better than fine. Rather than hearing about levels that were cut out, we could be playing them from the start.

I wish that Reach would be delayed as long as it's necessary for it to be delayed. I don't think this should be based on my own game-playing schedule, but rather on the ability for Bungie to deliver the game they want to deliver.

No.

Peonix is a game Bungie started and scrapped before Halo 1. I have reason to believe they picked t back up after a "slip up" at the Bungie pax meeting.

I wouldn't mind. All of the Halo's seemed to lack polish in the later levels. Cortana and Halo were both really short levels. Halo 2 was actually supposed to end the series, but all those levels were cut. Halo 3 ODST had the most repetition in the final missions.

Enough with the messages,
I don't want to join your stupid groups.

how long have they been working on it i thought its only been like 8 months

They've been working on it since the release of Halo 3, and it doesn't come out till next year anyway.

Development started on Halo: Reach since right after Halo 3 wrapped up. And its not coming out for at least another full year.

3 full years not good enough?

  • 10.03.2009 10:36 PM PDT

Well try to understand the guy, ODST just came out.

Than a year later we get another Reach.

Yeah, it's appreciated that we get another Halo game so soon, but don't you guys just want ODST to sink in for a bit?

No, because the thing that kept Halo 3 alive for so long is the same thing that Bungie is depending on tiding us over till Reach.

ODST is clearly not a sequel. Its a brand new campaign and Firefight, both of which, one due to the nature of the industry and one due to a rather odd and unfortunate design choice, will not be enough to keep ODST alive in the months to come. nly thing left? Halo 3's Multiplayer, the same one we've been playing for 2 years now.

By the time Reach comes out, Halo 3 (Because lets face it: ODST is a different iteration of it, not a brand new game) would have stayed its welcome.

A. it probably will be delayed anyway.

B. While ODST felt a lot more fresh and was thus, greatly appreciated on my part..that it wasn't its own, full-fledged, full-featured title had it come off as still rather.. half-baked, to use less than abrasive language.

C. Lastly, also another of my opinions..after all this, I find it quite difficult to get excited about yet another Halo release such as Reach. I feel more...skeptical at best.
Of course I'll pick it up when it arrives...I just don't think I'll be holding my breath getting my hopes up..
Don't get me wrong..this -is- Bungie I'm talking about..I'm still of the opinion they just about -can't- make a bad game..this...Halo..just doesn't seem as special anymore. Like it's about to jump the shark somehow..
Hah..maybe part of it's because it's become so popular among even those who could care less about it or the content of its plot.
Idk...sorry to drag on so.

3-4 months? You realize it's slated to come out in Q4 2010 right?
also ODST was NOT half assed, it was specifically made like that. I believe Bungie even said the short production time was purposeful.

Personaly, I want this game to be perfect, delay it to January 1st 2013.
I know 3 years is alot but, hey, at least it will kick butt!
And just to shove it into the End of days people.

That would give it nearly 6 years of production...unheard of really...

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

Agreed, I want this game to be as good as it can possibly be. I want a campaign that takes 10+ hours to complete (not including skulls, terminals audio files, etc) going strait through. I don't want to hear Marty say the campaign is 8-10 hours at PAX 2010 and then be able to beat it in 5 solo. **cough**ODST**cough**

You do know Marty was joking right?

And ODST was developed by a much smaller team in a year.
Reach is being developed by a much larger team in 3 years.

The quality will be world's apart.
