so im currently in an xbox live party playing odst and my friend and i thought it would be a GREAT idea for different armors to have different attributes. like the E.O.D. should take less damage from grenades for example. i doubt it will ever happen but wouldnt that be cool? or even make it so you have to have the full set to make it work. it would just be really cool if your armor did more than just look cool. it would kind of incorporate a perks system... kind of. i would assume it would need to be in the next installment for this big of a change to happen

"They let me pick... did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others you were strong and swift and brave, a natural leader. But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw but me. Can you guess? Luck."

Yes, this is how armor should have been done.

It would look sort of like.:

Mark 6 is normal.
CQB is slight meele damage increase.
EOD is slight explosive resistance. ( like you said )
SCOUT gives you poor cloking
Hayabusa gives you a slight speed increase and gravity decrease.
Security gives you slight damage resistance increase.
ODST gives you visor mode
Mark V gives you a light and Health bar. ( Would not change your health, you will just be able to see what it is )
Rogue gives you a longer sight. ( The ability to see more )
Recon gives you all of the above- just slightly less. For example if you get a 10% meele increase, it would then be a 5% for Recon.

Combat: Normal
Assult: Slight meele increase
Flight: Increase vechical health
Ascetic: Increase Speed and decrease gravity.
Commando: increase reload speed/ grenade throwing speed.

It could maybe look somthing like this, then maybe disadvatages with each armor, for example maybe CQB is slightly decrease reload speed/grenade throwing speed? Just to make it more balanced.

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

This has been discussed before. It would be like CoD and its perks, really unbalanced and retarded.

Death is the solution to all problems. No man - no problem

OMG if you like armor attributes so much go play CoD or WoW

My halo 2 stats
Kitsune are often presented as tricksters, with motives that vary from mischief to malevolence. Stories tell of kitsune playing tricks on overly proud Trolls, greedy Recon armour seekers, and boastful commoners, while the crueler ones abuse poor forum goers and topic starters or devout Ninjas.

I think it would be a very bad idea.
The game could easily become unbalanced, as we can se in the posted suggestion, some quick problems arise:
Mark VI is getting all the stats at basic, while all the others get a bonus to something.
Why even use that then?
I think it requires too much work to be worthwhile, and people would still end up meeting resistance that is way too hard because their chosen permutation is at a disadvantage towards the other, and vice versa.
The game would no longer be about skill.

Different HUDs depending on helmet would be pretty cool though.
(Like the Mark V having the Halo CE interface instead)
This wouldn't give any obvious benefits towards using a specific helmet, it would only add to whatever you think is more aesthetically pleasing, like it should be.

But there is no saying that different permutations will be avaliable in Halo reach.

exactly but u see people who wants a classbased halo dont analyse the gameplay.. for ex how a hunter would pick up weapons or interface with veichles or in this case how a guy in CQB would one hit u. or what does extra far sight even mean in halo.. X-ray?

well i think this is good but not for online as i like to play as the same it is all just skill in halo no more no less but i like to see this in campaign

Betatesters are disposable.

Bad idea. Everyone would whine and complain about noobs wearing their noob armor and how they would get owned without it... bad idea.

Torch, if it was like that, I'd just use ODST helm, one CQB shoulder, one EOD shoulder, and the Scout body. That'd overpower me. Lol.

ok, i didnt really think it through, but yes it would unbalance gameplay. BUT if there were like a seperate playlist where this could happen it would still be kind of cool or a "every now and again" twist. because if you play enough halo you begin to realise thats every map has a certain flavor to it. i can do really good on one map and totaly suck on another. it would be nice to see how this would work. and i do REALLY like the whole diff helmet/hud change up, even just that would be nice
