Ever since i saw it in halo 2, i thought i want to drive one now, and u almost did at the end of halo 2, but then johnson nicks it from you. It would be so cool if you could do this in halo reach

"Feet first into Hell" - ODST's.

Well, Keep waiting, It won't happen.

Play halo wars and spartans jack a empty one on like th 8th campaign mission but you would be to overpowered there wouldnt be a challenge

Why not?

go play the campaign or on assembly and look closely.
scarabs are made of hunter worms. unless you have mind control abilities, you can't DRIVE a living being.

(don't talk about H2 because it was a MINING scarab, hence the driving room... surely they won't deploy mining scarabs during an all out war.)
(don't talk about HW because it was here for GAMEPLAY PURPOSE only).

They deployed the mining scarb in halo 2, surely they could do it in this, for gameplay purposes. If they could do it in HW for gameplay purposes they can do it in this.

My guess was only because they were digging up the Ark on earth.

this would be cool for single player, but way too overpowering for multiplayer

Well, I see a total possibility.

Engineers aren't exactly buddy-buddy with covenant. Maybe you get a friendly engineer, who forces the Scarab in to your control. Yay!

Not to mention, a group of Spartans could easily man some controls of a Scarab. If ODST's can commandeer a Phantom, why not Spartans taking a Scarab?

Also, I wanna fly a Pelican. Period.

it could be possible their is two types of scarabs one driven by the hunter eels and the other by elites

Yeah, but I think the mining scarab was originally meant for digging for the artifact that was buried beneath the New mombasa but the elites used it to destroy the city. But anyway, yeah I think there should be a mission where a bunch of spartans take control of a scarab. with a whole new design
