Actually, I find that I'm more invincible without pants, which is why I am not wearing any at the moment.

Pretty sure the Covenant encountered flood before the events of H:CE, could be wrong though.

I may be ignorant, but there were flood in Halo Wars.

Halo Wars is not canon.

GP: Do Bungie consider the story of Halo Wars to be a part of their official canon?

Jason: Yes, Halo Wars is canon. Frank O'Connor is the Halo "canon overseer" and we have his official signoff!

GP: Did Bungie reject any of Ensembles ideas?

Jason: The Bungie guys were great partners during the development of Halo Wars, and we all take the Halo canon very seriously. Ensemble consulted Bungie throughout the development of Halo Wars, and those guys were instrumental in helping us make sure the game was a genuine Halo experience. From the game standpoint this is 100% an Ensemble creative project, however it's fair to say that Ensemble had great feedback from Bungie, but Bungie didn't provide creative oversight for the project.

Huh. That sounds awful, I can't imagine how the flood and brutes in HW could possibly be canon.

We're gonna make it.

Halo Wars is canon. And the flood have nothing to do with Reach, so therefore they should not be in the game.

Resignation is my virtue; like water I ebb, and flow.
Defeat is merely the addition of time to a sentence I never deserved...but you imposed.

"In 2534, the Spirit of Fire, previously designated as "missing", was declared "lost with all hands" by the UNSC." as quoted from halopedia and the halo wars timeline feature.

And Halo Wars sucked.

so did your mom. unless you can give me 3 good reasons to say HW sucked.

1. Uninteresting characters, some of which are carbon copies of preexisting ones.

2. No Covenant campaign (EVERY RTS ever made has a campaign for each faction. Why did Halo Wars need to be different?)

3. Too limited in base construction.

4. Story blows (Nothing important happened. At all.)

5. The Flood (They were there for padding. Remove them and the game gets a few levels shorter.)

6. Forge can apparently kill Spartans if he took down the Arbiter (ODST did something a little like this, but at least it took the whole squad to bring down that Chieftain rather than HOOMANS ROOL).

7. The fact that Ensemble thought they could charge ten bucks for gametypes and think it's not a rip off.

There's seven for ya, buddy.

And like I said, there is plenty of story available for Reach without involving the Flood. Find a Sentinel factory, a Shield World, some crazy Forerunner tech the Covenant wants, it's basically Pandora's Temple here.

1. just about every character has been done somewhere, it is impossible to create a whole story with nothing but new characters.
2. I am glad that Halo Wars is different. If they werent different, you would just say "oh Halo Wars just copied this game.."
3. I agree with you there. should have been more open.
4. The story was unimportant? I guess that stopping the covenant from doubling the amount of ships that tey had is just boring. The war would have ended if they got their hands on those ships.
5. The flood are just padding in every game. There is plenty of story without them but they do make it more interesting.
6. He killed an elite who let his gaurd down, doesnt mean he can do it again or even hurt a spartan.
7. it is overpriced but they arent making you buy it are they?
