Long campaigns get dull and repetitive after a while. However, Forge does need a mega overhaul. Like, with these ideas.

forges redeeming factor was simplicity, if you take that away less people will forge and leave it to "Map Makers" thus bungie shout not be making every detail possible but instead making only the most crucial details possible but allow things like land formation and a delete all of a certain item button (like respawn points) but there are some serious items missing for instance rock, tree, water plane, hill area, basic phisics changes, lighting, weather effects (such as rain and night) and many other things that would make forge more customizable while still being simple and well ... forge.

They could leave Forge in, just have an option to toggle back and forth between 'simple' and 'advanced' mode. Simple mode would be the Forge we have now, with maybe a few improvements, and is available on all maps. Advanced mode would be available on only user created maps, but would be much more powerful.

forge isnt a map maker. its an object editor. get your facts straight. you can never make a map in halo 3. you get place weapons and objects in existing map geometry. a map maker is where you make entirely brand new maps from scratch.

and wtf calls a map maker a map editor? your not editing anything.
