what also would be cool is if you could just ask for spare ammo. then they just go grab some more from the peklican nearby. if there is one.
also, it would be sweet if you could get marines to follow and help you if you asked.

it really p***** me off when i got shot in the back of the head by Sgt. Johnson and his bloody sniper. AAARRRRGGHHH!!

Hah, have you ever been shot at by an LAAG while you're in the tank, because there is an enemy on the other side of it? Makes me kind of aggravated.

Great idea. And then they could refuse and you can punch them in the face.

Or stop and wait here so you can move ahead while invisible and take out the main threats. Or tell them NOT to walk in front of the Shade that you are currently in WHILE YOU'RE STILL FIRING! Although it is kind of funny.

Yeah so, i dunno what you guys theories on the flood are about - but they would be better off in another thread.

Back to the topic and i too think that would be a great idea - especially if there was a Marine with a rocket launcher (something new *hopefully* in Halo 2) and you were runnig low. Also, if the marines behaviour in Halo 1 is anything to go by, they would be better off without the Rocket - it really p***** me off when i got shot in the back of the head by Sgt. Johnson and his bloody sniper. AAARRRRGGHHH!!

The worst was Cpt Keyes, he put so many needler rounds into me it was stupid!
Also could you imagine a Marine carrying a Rocket Launcher strooling upto a dead Elite "Let me get that for ya!" BOOM!
The only problem I can see with this is what happens to the Marine you change guns with?
I mean he has an SMG and infinite ammo (they did have infinite ammo in Halo yes?) and you swap his SMG for an empty Battle Rifle, would he jus start blazing away with that? I think that could make the feature a little crappy!

Yeah being shot by that bloody LAAG really p***** me off, especially on Co-op play, they just have no consideration *sniff*.

That should definitely be righted in Halo 2

I've never seen a Marine fire a pistol or a rocket launcher, so how do you know they are better with them?

But with the sniper, yes. They are a lot better with them, but if you need ammo for the same gun, take it.

On the topic of telling marines what to do.....

(and im not trying to start a new thread here Ops Agent 117, feel free to change it back to the original subject when you like)

....do you think that the Xbox Live headset Communicator could be configured to interact with Marines - although i suppose that it could cuase complications with speech, stuff like "move it you f*****" probably wouldnt work!

But i think that basic speech like "cover me" and "flank them on the right" would be kinda cool. a bit like SOCOM: Navy Seals.

That would be cool, but only to an extent. It may become too much like Rainbow 6 or something.

I think the headset would take away from the simplicity of the first halo. That isnt really what it's about. If you really wanted to do that then you could just buy the new Rainbow Six game when it comes out. BTW awesome idea about trading weapons and such!

Trading guns would be awsome, but some levels i would just kill all the marines cause id get a frag bounced off my face or a sniper round in the chest, or i had my sights set on a elite and a marine would jump in front of me shot scare away the elite and end up with the sniper round in the back of his head. But yea taking a gun would be awsome and if You gave them a empty they should throw it on the ground and get the backup out and mumble something like "what and ass" or "hope the covenant kick his ass, cause i shure cant".

Well, I understand if you killed them on accident, I do it all the time. Especially when they feel the need to jump in front of a moving tank...

O dude, campaign would be awesome, but how many times has some teammate on yours just been rocking with the snipe, and he runs out of ammo, and to give him more, he has to kill you? I do this all the time. IF a teammate is just owning, I'll grab the snipe, and bring it to em. Hopefully there is a 3rd weapon lying around.

Nice idea on bungies part to have to buy the communicator even if you don't have XBOX live.

GOSH DARN YOU AOL.

  • 08.03.2004 10:55 PM PDT

SOrry to post again, but did you guys see the thing on HBO about the Halo 2 communicator? The earpiece is gonna be the H02 Logo apparently.

it would be nice to be able to give simple commands to marines like hold fire, follow, hold position throw grenade etc.

marines always messed up the stealth parts of T and R
