I've recently joined Bungie.net, and I have to say that I'm enjoying myself. But alas, my curiosity has peaked. It's mentally damaging to hear people talk about the "old/pre-new hotness", as I never had the chance to be a part of such an exciting realm.

So, that's why I'm creating this thread. For me and you. Because apparently, there were a lot of things that people really liked about the Old Hotness. Things that are no more. I just want to learn a little bit about the Bungie.net that used to be - no matter how small the differences. Use this thread to remember some of the things you really liked, or miss today. Who knows, maybe some magical monkey will cast a spell and bring back what you desire. Anything is possible if you believe!

Oh yeah, and mods - if this is in the wrong place then feel free to move it, I was torn between here and the Underground. With my luck, I picked the wrong one. BTW, if the Old Hotness sucked, then tell me stuff anyway, I don't like wasting my time.

Edited post title - pre-new hotness is known as the old crapness - goweb

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

This is in the right place. Personally, i wasn't around pre- New Hotness, but from what i've heared, somethings changed for the good, others not so.

Lol. I thought it was strange that the title had changed.

It must have been so nice not to see 50 posts a day insulting Bungie, or the members on the site. I think these forums do convey a certain amount of community, but there's always a rotten apple. (That being said, the mods do a really good job taking out the trash.) Seems like a distant utopia now...

Oh yeah, thanks for clarifying, goweb.

Why Xeroh why? (Don't answer)

Just to let all of you know. It wasn't called old hotness, old crapness; it's called the old coolness.

Things I miss
-The way the site looked (Call me crazy) Link
-Threaded forum (I would actually skip a person's post because I knew their post was just nothing)
-The disembodied soul
-All the cool features of the old chapters (Activity log, last 5 posts by someone, the databases)
-The people who made the forum what it was, I miss some of those guys

*sigh* All these things make me wish I joined earlier, but I still perfer these kind of forums. Threaded forums, in my opinion, look a bit sloppy though.

IMO, threads have their ups and downs, it would definitely help to be able to skip the "Halo 2 sucks" posts that I see daily. What I would like is a post counter. Every forum I've been to has one, I guess that just makes Bungie special.

People used to insult me in good humor, now they do it because they're -blam!-s.

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

sigh.....wow this site really sounded like something special......It must have been nice when people actually appreciated bungie as a gamecompany before all these halo2sucks -blam!-s came along thinking they were gods gift to videogames and that Bungie had betrayed them for not making a game curtailled to their own custom game specifications.

I love the septagon, everyone here is so nice

Whoah

That would be really out-of charachter for the barron now, but it also proves what I said in my long post above.

If that forum went just 9 more days into the future of the past, my old posts under my old account would be visible.

The site was different back then. Most of the people got along with each other. We were all friends and when there was no information on games or anything, we would just talk about random things.

And I almost forgot, the Barron will be returning in a matter of hours! His bannage time is up!

Stupid Pirate Kenny! Him and Shai are coming back! Two good members coming back to the forums is great news.

For political discussion (which isn't allowed).

Also, I forgot to mention that I miss Jason H. He was the only combination idiot/jerk in the forums. If you saw his name, you knew you should just skip it. Now, well... look everywhere but this forum and you'll understand quickly.

I remember when you could actually read every post of every forum that was posted every day. Now it's like, screw reading anything in half of the forums, and in the other half barely have time to read half the posts that have half of the length of the old ones and half of the quality.

The only thing we have more of nowdays is users. And that's very rarely a good thing.
