Seven is the greatest number. It's got references everywhere! And it wouldn't surprise me if it was the answer to existance. (42 is in the 7 times table, all you hitchhikers fans will know.)

I wrote this as a reply on a forum, but wanted to see some fresh opinion.
Since its supposedly Bungies last game, it has to be totaly and utterly EPIC. They need to spend time on it, and slowly craft it into a game that will dominate the shelves for ages.
It needs to be as large and as long as Metal Gear Solid 4 (XBOXers that are unaware of Metal Gear should probably know that is is a game that could take up to 24 hours of solid play to complete, and has about 16 hours worth of cutscenes. All in all, its a brilliant, time consuming game and would have done better on the XBOX than the PS3.)
Halo Reach has to employ gargantuan battles where you feel both outnumbered by horrifying aliens, but also brave enough to charge fearlessly screaming into battle slaying trillions of grunts and causing enough explosions to destroy a planet.
It needs to be long and drawn out with aspects, levels, and parts of the story taken from the two books Halo: Fall of Reach and First Strike (they are the parts of the timeline that revolve around the games title).
There need to be levels great and small, missions involving huge shootouts, assults on the enemy, huge battles that tax the games very engine to the point of colapse (hopefully Bungie create something to support all this). The missions need to vary, and include multiple situations and environments.
Possibly addin flashback missions to the spartans early years.
Antigravity space battles, floating and shooting that require a certain ammount of control and skill.
We can't keep on having the same old feeling to the first person gameplay, i think i speak for many, not all, but many people when i say 'same old gets a tad tiresome'. They could employ a cover system to make shootouts far better, and even add a new close combat system with maneuvers like finnishing moves and quick kills (considering Fred specialises with a knife). And i beg that they add a sprint button, its possibly one of the only large flaws of the game. It would be nice to run once in a while.
It would be massivley varied if we could play as marines as well as spartans, maybe ODST's too. It wasn't very popular in Halo 2, but even playing from the Covenants perspective (playing as a grunt would just be priceless!).
Fighting Elites not Brutes, showing the Engineers again.
And who thinks it would be cool to be able to fly a space ship like the pillar of autumn into the midst of a chaotic space battle, and empty MAC rounds into the fully destructable covenant vessels.
Epic cutscenes with an engaging storyline that keeps the player interested. And perhaps seeing the Cheifs face.
It needs to be the best game ever, it just can't not be. It's Bungies last friggin Halo game, it's a huge deal!
