do you guys think this is a good idea. I was thinking it would be cool if everybody got like 3 strikes per game, what does everybody else think?

PEANUT-BUTTER SLAP!

That would be horrible in a Halo game. No thanks.

No, that would be too much like CoD. It doesn't really fit Halo gameplay.
Maybe calling in an airstrike in campaign would be cool. You could call it in on a certain part of a campaign level and you would see a squad of Longsword fighters fly over head and bomb the area. Then you would go in and mop up the rest.

  • 10.02.2009 5:21 PM PDT

why would that make it like cod? is cod the only game ever to have air strikes?

that being said halo doesnt need airstrikes because YOU ARE THE AIRSTRIKE! you see that banshee behind that giant pencil lead colored tower? hop in it and then spam the enemy with fuel rod. just dont fly it over the middle eastern neighbor hood of valhalla or youll get shot down

No. Halo is good the way it is, simple. Why over complicate it? Equipment and Dual Wielding already did too much.

Were it so easy.

Go play call of duty.

Because Call of Duty has airstrikes...

master chief is the air strike

I wish I was still legendary.

Airstrikes don't really fit with Halo. I mean, even the ones in halo wars were very limited in many ways and only there because they needed leader powers. The maps are always either too open or too enclosed for an airstrike to work (E.g. sandtrap-the pit)and they generally would just be misused for fun betrayals.

What it hurts you'r brain?

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

How will you get an air strike in indoors maps? Not all of them will be in outdoor, open, areas.

How about instead, if you get a running riot, you can call in a pelican in open maps that drops off vehicles, and in indoor maps you can have weapons teleported to you via forerunner.

WOW!!!! A Halo game has to be a halo game to be what it is. If you want airstrikes play call of duty 4 or Mw2. Not Halo... Some people are really dumb or just to young to know differnt games.

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

this is not COD this is HALO

IMO, adding in air strikes is a horrible idea. Not only would it mess up the balance of MP, but it doesn't fit in with Halo.

  • 10.02.2009 7:47 PM PDT

No, because:
A: Halo has indoor maps or indoor sections (Like the Crypt on Sand Box).
B: Part of the Halo experience is small maps. Everyone, even your own team.
C: This stims off of B. If people boot other players for the simplest accidental betrayals, imagine what it would be like if this was added.

Shortswords are the atmospheric bombers. The only time tht Longswords would be used is for the heavy stuff (SHIVA Nuclear Bombs, for example) and Assaults on objects of Interest (Halo 3, at the end of "The Storm"). Longswords are the "starfighters" of the Human vehicles, they would be too busy in orbit or in the high atmosphere.
