I have read the entire pre-view on Relic, and bought the 2005 July issue of OXM with the promo video's of all the new maps on the game disc. I think that Rellic will be an awsomely great CTF map and I have some suggestion's. First off, I think there should be a second ( and maybe a third and fourth ) base, were as the gigantic relic is guarded, yet open, the other(s) should be in the open ( i.e. a base surrounded by nothing ) but heavily guarded, what I mean is a small base ( like those little forts right before you get into the tunnel on Outskirts in campaign mode ) with two warthogs park directly behind the tiny base, and a series of weapons leading away from the base ( towards the relic ). After your slightly away from your base you come into bunch of huge rocks ( like a landslide recently happpened ). Where if you were in the warthog you would have to go on foot or drive in the open sight ( or just not go that direction ). Also I think there should be an opening to a underground tunnel which leads to the basement of the relic, which has a gate that can only be opened for a specific amount of time, by finding a button/switch on the outside of the base, and once you have entered the base you have to go up ramps and such ( like in the new map, Elongation ). Where you will find the sword in the heart of the base. There will be more ramps and a variety of cover ( i.e. walls, boxes, bulletproof windows, ect. ) and some plasma grenades along the way to the upper level of Relic. there you will find the flag and be able to drop the flag off the edge. Plus if there were mutiple bases for assault the game would be a bit more intenses, because you would have to protect the carrier in the openness of the map in a shorter distance, which would make other players more defensive then just leaving their base for someone else to plant. Another thing that might be cool is a banshee on the inside of the base which a player can obtain and patrol the ancient base. But cause of that a rocket launcher should be in favor of the offensive team. I think a good thing would be is to put a bundle of rocks around the back and side of the relic for a sneak attack on the defensive team. though, all these things seem to give the attackers a upper hand, the defenders should have a mouted turret on the ledge of the relic where the flag is posted. Also, I think there should be a variety of long-ranged weapons and magnums on the upper level of the structure, and SMG / Plasma Rifels ( and other weapons that fall into that catagory ) on the middle and lower level of the forrunner building. So now that I can't think of anything else my must say good bye and please take my suggestion's in to concideration. Thx =)
