Autoaim is more of a nuisance than it was ever helpful. Constantly dragging my sniper scope off of targets. Take auto aim out the game, separate the men from boys. BR + Auto aim basically automated the gameplay in Halo 3, so instead of who was the better shot it came down to who get their 4 shot in fastest.

Its really ridiculous. Enough of this autoaim garbage. Auto aim does not balance the game in any way, it just lowers the bar. If you take your games seriously, just like the fans do, then there is no reason to put it into the game. You aren't producing under Microsoft anymore, so there is no reason to sell out.

Custom games toggle anyone?

When you shoot at teammates there is no autoaim, and we all know how hard it can be to BR a teammate to death. The game without autoaim is a tad too tough for even good players.

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

Go into a custom game and try and kill your team-mates and then tell me you don't want auto aim.

A toggle feature for people who want to use it and for those who don't at least.

Its annoying at times and when its not messing up my shot I really don't notice lol.

The thing about auto-aim and bullet magnetism, is that you need them for console FPS's. PC is not a problem, because you have much more precision with a keyboard & mouse. On consoles, you don't get that same precision.

So, it's kind of necessary, even if you think you don't need it and absolutely detest it, you really do need it.

An example a couple of posters have provided is trying shoot teammates, it's extremely difficult to do.

It would be terrible to take it out completely. Tone it down.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

The only reason this is difficult is because of the lack of need to play without autoaim, the more you play without it the better your aim would get naturally. TF2 doesn't have autoaim, and some classes in the game move much quicker than you can dodge in Halo 3, yet you can still get used to it and have good aim.

I think that incorporation of autoaim really destroys the capacity to cater to both hardcore players and casual players. There is already a matchmaking system dedicated to matching you with people of equal skill, why not make the actual game more complex for a change?
