Subject: Reach Theories / Ideas

I looked for a thread that had this in the first two pages, but didn't see one that had any activity, so I started one, and included my own ideas below...

I know that theories are running rampant for this game, but I thought I would drop in my own ideas.

From the graphic at the end of the trailer, we can see that 5 differently sized and armed Spartans are probably going to be key to this game. Given this information, I believe we're looking at some form of class/specialization combat using the ever-popular Halo formula.

That got me started thinking on a campaign for Reach...what could they possibly do to be any different from all the other 1,000 FPS games out there? So, here's a summary of my idea for the campaign:

You play as a new recruit to the Spartan training program at a young age. You experience the training, and based on your performances, your training is altered to shape and mold you into one of the 5 primary classes / specializations shown on the cover. I read once that the Spartans usually began their training at a very young age, so there's no reason why sections of the game couldn't be played on other planets besides Reach. The campaign concludes with the Spartans receiving their final upgrades and armor and then defending Reach from the Covenant invasion.

As an alternate campaign, you would play through the training from each of the 5 different Spartan's perspective and style (similar to ODST, just bigger and better). Anyway, this has been the only thing I've read about or thought of that could account for an actual campaign.

As for multiplayer (co-op would just be campaign or firefight), I believe we'll see basic class-based Halo. This is why, I believe, Bungie will be doing a Beta; they need to balance the classes properly so no class is too powerful. I really hope this is where they take it, because I have always wanted to play a class-based Halo.

Anyway, those are my ideas, but I'd love to hear what else you guys have to say about it.
