Ugh . . . please, PLEASE, do more research.
Spartan = Sierra. Sierra is a codename for Spartan's, so please atleast have the sense to know what you're talking about before you make a reply.

Legit.
Nope.
"Spartan" 259 was Sierra 259, which is more likely to be a dropship.
Not proved. They would have called them Sierra n other games if that is a hard and fast rule. Why don't you do more research?
Besides, Sierra is used for more than just Spartans, the military may even use it for a submarine. You have no solid proof.
Case closed.
This is Sierra-259. You've got Spartans on the ground, sir. We're not going anywhere.
They are with all likelihood Spartans, and not class-II-'s either. As many people have said before me, there must have been at least thousands of childs that Halsey somehow got examined before cutting that down to 150 candidates with the ideal gene-pools etc.
It's possible, but not probable, even a combat team has a chance of being the mentioned Sierra in the trailer;
Halo CE
Pillar of Autumn
Cortana over loudspeakers:
"Combat teams Alpha through Sierra move to assist."
They have the same chance of being a Spartan as anything else.
We've got Spartans on the ground, sir. We're not going anywhere.
Emphasis on the we. Due to the use, he may be hinting that he may have something to do with the Spartans (Dropship pilot, Marine commander), but not be a Spartan himself. Sierra may stand for a specific company, namely Charlie Company, found by the Spartans directly after drop.
Of course, I have not disproved the possibility of Spartans. They may still be Spartans, but I have stated that they may be otherwise.
