Subject: This Idea Will make the Game A LOT better...

If they actually can't fit it all on one disc, and needs two discs, I have a suggestion that would be very convenient.

As you all know, the 360 allows you to download games into your hardrive, but you still need to use the disc to start the game.

In Reach, even if you had the single-player disc inserted, you should be able to start up the multiplayer component, (as long as you downloaded it into your harddrive.) So you wouldn't need to exchange discs if you wanted to play multiplayer, just go to the dashboard and start up the multiplayer component, or vice versa.

yeah, i was hoping for this in ODST, but microsoft might allow this for reach (if it has to be on 2 disks)

[.../Text Log/... "And the FNG. The Rookie, Not exactly green, no ODST is. if I didn't think he could do the job I wouldn't have him on my six. He doesn't say much, but I don't care, i just need him to listen." - Sgt Edward Buck.

Why does microsoft have to decide, I thought bungie called the shots for Halo...

I like the idea. It would allow for a lot more features for each mode. Theater could be more comprehensive, Forge could be like Far Cry 2s, Multiplayer could actually find matches quickly, and Campaign could be a lot longer.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

Yes, two disks only bothers people with no patience... Two disks allows more stuff to be put on each of them, making a much longer, and better game. Look at "Lost Oddysy" it was four disks of greatness. The developers would have had to cut the graphics and cutscenes down to the original xbox graphics to fit all of the stuff that was in it...

So yes. Two heads*, and two disks are better than one.

*As long as they are not conjoined...

PEANUT-BUTTER SLAP!

I really don't think this game's going to have the 7+ gigs of content to warrant a second disk.

I understand your reasoning for splitting into 2 disk, however if there isn't enough content to warrant it then I would prefer it not to happen.

halo 3 had 6.4 gigs. I'd presume this game is going to be around that if not larger, providing they don't have to cut too much.

Agreed, I'm expecting around 6.5-6.7. But it doesn't benefit Bungie to split a game like that if it can fit one one disk.

How many World of Warcrafts does it take to screw in a virgin? LIGHTBULB!

Yes
again... why?

come on guy we need some opinions here....

It allows the game to have more content. The graphics could be made much better while not lowering the quality of the game.

Yes, i really could careless how many disks there were.. i mean come on, it takes 3 minutes to swap a disk, but I've been playing halo for a whole year, i think that year makes up for the 3 minutes of switching... and then Halo was about 6.5, but don't you think in Reach they'll add more?? like new weapons and vehicals, new features, Firefight?!..i mean come on, that's gotta be enough to make this big enough to have to split...

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Firefight should be on the matchmaking disk.

Firefight should have matchmaking.

So have...

Disk 1:
Campaign
Theather

Disk 2:
Firefight
Matchmaking
Theater

disk 1 with extra content like the bungies concept art and what not also. I'm not a programmer so i don't know how it would work but as far as i know when you jam less stuff on to something it usually makes it easier and quicker.

I don't mind a split disk to separate things so things are sped up no more then 2 disc in the regular edition maybe legendary edition can have more video or something with bungie thoughts or something and what ever else they can think of as this is supposed to be the last halo game by bungie on the 360.

i like 1 disc better because it's alot faster to change from campaign to multiplayer without having to swap discs

  • 10.04.2009 7:48 PM PDT

I'm xAssault12x, and I love the Halo Universe. Discussion please!

We all know it is easier to change from campaign to matchmaking with 1 disc, but with 1 disc we will get half the game we could get. 2 disks would make the game 2 times better then it would have been. With 2 discs we could have a 20 hour campaign, 20 multiplayer maps, 15 firefight maps, forge, and theater. That would be sooooo much better.

The only way 2 disck work is as follows.

Disk 1

Campaign
Campaign Theater

Disk 2

Matchmaking
Firefight
Forge
Multiplayer Theater

I don't have a problem with that. If they did it that way, they could have more room to add more features to the multiplayer

I think they might do that but I can't imagine Bungie making Reach that big.

Maybe not that big, but like previously stated, a lot of stuff got cut from previous games due to disck space restrictions. With 2 discks they would be able to include everything they wanted. Maybe they would be able to have more complicated programs for the AI and stuff like that.

ya...maybe not THAT big...but bigger then if it was on one disk...

But won't it make it cost more? Though it is a very smart idea.
