I think that the BR is prefect and should not be changed, and that some of the weapons around it need a change.

Carbine: at least double the ammo
Assault rifle: make it head shot able, give it a sight
magnum: make it the ODST magnum except not silenced (so it makes a little more powerful sound)
SMG: give it the range from ODST
shot gun: give it a little more range, but keep it week from distance and powerful up close, it should take about 3 shots from the old SMG's range and one as close as a Halo3 player uses it
Energy sword: give the UNSC a knife that is faster, dosn't lung from as far, and cant clash, this would be picked up as equipment and would replace your melee, it would be faster than a beat down
frag grenade: up the power so one drains your shields completely (flashing red)
VISR mode: if they have it in the game it should be up on the D-pad to allow for equipment
Hornet: redo

ALL WEAPONS: MAKE ALL WEAPONS (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ROCKET) BE ABLE TO HOLD AT LEAST 4 CLIPS, MODERN SOLDIERS CARRY MUCH MORE THAN TWO EXTRA CLIPS.

no for the carbine and shotgun, and the frag already destroys the shield. I like the idea of the VISR, but it would have to be different since its only for ODSTs

please explain why you dislike the carbine idea, also i could shoot some one off my roof with a current day shotgun. that's about 50-60yrd. for the grenade i mean give it a larger blast radius sorry for not being clear.

The BR is not perfect and should have a major overhaul done to it.

all these ideas are just ammo happy suggestions. we need balance in MP not more ammo.

I've said it before H2 and H3 are BR-centric games (the entire "balance" of MP revolves around the BR) and this needs to be corrected in H Reach, even if it means making the BR weaker.

my ideas are designed to even out the weapons. as for ammo happy id like to kill some one with a carbine without reloading 3 times. most of the other adjustments are for power and range.

Carbine is already pretty powerful, we dont need it to be 2x more. Not 2x more literally, the only thing limiting the carbine right now is it's small magazine. It will be too powerful if it has the same amount of shots as the BR but more power per bullet/laser.

The AR's range is already at 3/4 the BR, fire in bursts. Check out halowiki.net, the AR actually does more damage per bullet compared to the BR as well. BR kills faster because it is able headshot.

BR's should be able to have different firing options, such as single shot or full auto, not just the same old 3 round burst. The clip size and power are fine though.
The same goes for the plasma rifle as well, like in Combat Evolved.

The shotgun definitely needs MUCH more range and Weapons such as the BR, carbine, AR and Pistol should have 2 firing modes. (semi-auto and full-auto).

All weapons without a scope should also have iron sights.

I want reach to have the type of weapons and gunplay similar to Crysis.

I disagree. The BR is too ridiculously easy/random as is. In a 1v1 fight it's too random at all but close/medium distances to come down to distinguishable skill. On top of that, when it's team fired or used to clean up kills, it is SOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to get a headshot. You don't even have to aim at the head with the burst. Why make a burst weapon headshot capable? It's a n@@& weabon and highly overrated on the skill department - too well rounded to make gameplay with other weapons viable enough.
Give us a single shot BR and/or reduce the damage on it, decrease the rate of fire, or something.

Carbines are where the skill is at. I love the carbines and they DEFINITELY need added ammo. You can get 2 kills per clip vs. 3 kills per clip on the BR (6 vs. 9 overall with all the clips). Why make a weapon that is harder to use less viable of an option?

It's a close range weapon and doesn't need a sight (though if it is a starting weapon, it would give you some chance against BRs and such - so maybe it's not such a bad idea). But giving a spray weapon HS capability is absolutely dumb. It already kills quickly enough. It would be like BR2 if you made it HS capable.

It has short range, single shot, and can't beat out a BR all things being equal. It's not meant to beat a BR at long range, but it should do a pretty good job at close range. I say increase ROF and decrease damage so it can kill faster than a BR, but you have to be consistent and land the hits.

I think one major problem Halo has run into is that very few weapons are good options now. All you ever use is BR/Snipe/Rocks/Shotgun. Why would you ever really pick up anything else? Maybe for some fun, but you rarely ever do because it's actually useful. They need to find good niches for weapons. SMGs are for closer range, so I'd say up the power but keep the range the same or bump it up a little. With melee as strong as it is now, duals are pretty much pointless because you have to get close to melee range for it to be effective.

I think it's great as is.

IT already does. They're perfect and take skill as they are. Don't just turn them into spam.

Overall, they really just need to give the weapons a niche of their own and make all the weapons viable options for different situations. As it is right now, a few weapons fit everything.

The carbine CAN kill slightly faster than the BR, so it is strong. However, it is much more difficult to use and has little ammo (as you said). It really doesn't hold up to the BR. What they should do to give the carbine a niche is to make it more accurate at a range, so take off the randomness it has. This would make the BR more likely to win at close/medium range, but less likely to win at longer ranges.
