Spartans would not go into combat without their helmet. The Shield surrounds the Armor, not the flesh. With the helmet off, one of 3 effects would occur.
1: The Shielding of the Armor would not be capable of activating.
2: The shield would not cover the head, leaving headshots a 1 hit kill with everything.
3: The Shield would burn through the Spartan's neck, killing him.
Basically. No, a Spartan can never fight without his helmet, and no, the face should not be customizable.
Spartans are meant to be portrayed with helmets, unlike humans. Read the post above yours.
What does the post above his prove? I like his reasoning for why helmetless spartans are impossible. The fact that you said that the idea isn't new has nothing to do with it.Multiplayer already goes against cannon, it would add to the experience. Im in no way saying they should have this for campaign or firefight.
His post didn't deal with canon, it was the implications and stupidity of not going into combat with a helmet.
