I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.
OK. Here's the thing. ODST finally came out, and the first thing I did was go on Legendary.
My first thought was "Wait... Maybe Legendary ISNT A good idea..."
But let's face it, it was easy. Harder than Halo 3, yes, but ultimately easy.
I started putting on skulls I felt would make the game more tactical.
Tilt: Would make me think about the weapons I carry more. Plasma would become almost necessary for shielding and whatnot.
Famine: Ammo would be scarce, forcing me to switch up alot more often than normal. This would add a need for ammo conservation.
Tough Luck: Grenades, Needlers, Plasma Pistols, and Splatters would be harder to do, this would mean more aim with these is required. Also, Grenade Conservation comes into play.
(And when I play Coop I add these to the list)
Iron: Survival is necessary, for the whole team. This means PLAN PLAN PLAN, Tactics = survival.
Thunderstorm: Enemies are overall tougher.
Anyway, even with these additions, the game still feels just too easy. I am about to move Thunderstorm to the SP skulls, and add Mythic to the Coop skulls, literally. It is TOO EASY.
OK, now that that small rant is done, I will tell you what I want in Reach.
MYTHIC DIFFICULTY.
Yes, I understand there is a skull, but it doesn't do it for me. I want Mythic to be a full on difficulty setting. It should not only increase the health of all enemies like Mythic does now, but it should also enhance AI, Rank, and Numbers of enemies (like a regular difficulty jump), as well as add more realistic damage to the mix (thats right, 2 shots from a Plasma Rifle, and your armor melts.)
It should also show up on service records for BOTH COOP AND SINGLE PLAYER.
Thats right, I want this game to be HARDER than Halo 3, HARDER than ODST, HARDER than Halo 2, and HARDER than Halo CE.
I want this game so Hard, that people ACTUALLY COMPLAIN ABOUT IT.
I see a few complaints from -blam!- players who shouldn't be playing Legendary as is, but I want GOOD players to complain. Mythic should be the difficulty that Casual gamers will NEVER beat.
Please Bungie... CHALLENGE ME.
