Subject: Possible ways to improve a new halo game!

Matchmaking:

1) Campaign and Firefight matching. Why does this not exist already?!
2) As soon as the required number of players have vetod the map then start loading the next one rather than waiting until the vote ends.
3) In social gaming automatically goto the same party on the next game (like in COD4) so that the games have less of a delay between each other
4) Ability to filter by country rather than language so that you get less lag cos you don't have to play Americans the whole time.
5) More game types to choose from. If I want to do a team slayer then I can, but if I want to do capture the flag then it is currently mixed in with assault, the lame rip off of counter strike that doesn't really work in a fun way.

Gameplay:

1) Get rid of the Brutes and bring back the Elites as they are much more fun to fight.

2) Get rid of deployable items or have some that work.
As in the deployable mine was not powerful enough, the radar jammer was pointless, the flare a bit lame and the bubble shield annoying. Liked the green one tho.

3) More powerful shotgun! Some of the best experiences in games are with super powerful shotguns or at least cool ragdoll effects if you do kill someone point blank they should get blasted back lots.

4) Stick to having just Spartans as playable characters. No humans and no Arbiter, but I guess this should make sense given the story. If they have to have additional characters then just allow you to pick who you would like

5) Maybe some more guns and more human guns cos they are a lot more fun than the alien weapons and bring back dual wielding.

6) More vehicles

7) No lame levels. If you make a level like Cortana and then realise when you play through it that it is incredibly lame at the end, then drop that and make a good level instead.

8) No Cortana / Gravemind slowdown ever. Or any other kind of mechanic that means you have to listen to something while semi interrupting gameplay.

Umm... Spartans are humans in suits so WTF you talking about? And besides covenant weapons are cool, and its nice to have a choice of choosing between Spartans and elites in MP

lol they are cyborgs not just guys wearing fancy pants and you knew what I meant so ggfed.

I didn't mean for multiplayer on that, I meant for co-op campaign where they normally only let one person be the Chief.

But it's just stupid to see like 4 Master Chiefs running around. Although I see your point for Reach having Spartans only, because how the enemy will mostly likely be elites and all.

uh you do realize that master chief wasnt on reach and that there were more spartans at reach

Matchmaking

1) Yes, and I'm not sure
2) Why not. I never thought of that
3) Yes. That would be nice, but Bungie needs to do a better job at mixing up the teams because CoD sucked at that. The good players were matched up with eachother mostly and the bad players were matched up with eachother which can cause an extremely unfair game
4) Sure. That could get rid of some lag
5) Yes

Gameplay

1) Oh, please! But maybe some Brutes be in the game if they can, we don't want to completely abandon them
2) If we got rid of all of those then that will be like taking a big step back in Halo. I think Bubble Shields, Regenerator, Power Drain (to counter Regenerator), and also Deployable Cover should stay. Everything else is useless because almost all they are never used in Matchmaking anyways, and it's almost totaly useless in Custom Games, too.
3) Shotguns are already overpowered as is. And do you honestly think that one shot gun blast will send a 2 ton Spartan flying back like a ragdoll? No...
4) Spartans and Elites should be playable in campaign and in all other games. It's just what can easily separate people from eachother.
5) Yes more guns, but for the love of God, please no duel-weilding. This encouraged way too much noobish gameplay.
6) Yep. That is something we all want.
7) I didn't think Cortana was a lame level. Just difficult.
8) I don't like the slow-down either, but it will probably not even be in the game.

put a strong hugee boss at the end of a couple of missions that would realy test the skills of halo fans

Ah cool someone actually responded to my actual post rather than just having a go at the semantics within it, thanks for the input War Horor.

I really liked dual wielding in halo 2 but admin that that did become the main focus of the multiplayer a lot since it was a bit too easy to do in that when you start with the smg, so maybe its ok to not have it but don't see why not in the campaign.

Also with the shotgun I never feel fully satisfied with the kill like you get in other games but as you say I guess the spartan is quite heavy. But even shooting grunts doesn't send them flying back.

The start of the level was ok but when you get inside the level is very annoying, it doesnt help that you can't see that well and you do get constant interruptions from Cortana or the Gravemind. The snipey spikey things on the walls take about a million bullets to knock off and you can get lost quite easily.

So we are talking about singleplayer, aren't we?

Then I totally agree to the matchmaking stuff.
Gameplay:

1) According to the Halo timeline the most enemys will be elites anyway. But some additionaly brutes would be fun.

2) I mostly used the bubble, the shield and the grav lift - I think this items are making sense and should stay. There may be some people that like the other items, so why get rid of them?

3) MJOLNIR Mark IV is about half a ton, there can't be much ragdoll on Spartans, but on other chars, though

4) I don't care about playing someone else, as long as its used for the story (like Halo 2). But many different chars that you have to play (like ODST) would be a bad idea in my opinion.

5) I like dualwielding to, it looks cool. But Ißm not sure if we need more guns. The more weapons you have, the less they differ from each one.

6) Yeah, more vehicles, more warthog variations :D (like a mongoose for one person with a chaingun on it, called "warpig" :)

7/8) Cortana was a fun level, and it wasnt to long. Also at first the cortana/gravemind interupts were indeed cool, but i got the point... when I play for the 6 time through the campaign and know all about the story its just annoyin.
