I was just wondering what everyone thinks about this. I think bringing the health back in ODST was a really good idea, and seeing as this is set before Halo CE, we should still have health right?

What does you lot think about this? Do you think there's going to be health? Do you like having health?

Bungie All Star Contest Winner Weeks 6,8 and 12

If this goes back to the time period of Reach there would have to be some sort of Biofoam/Health System.

...Unless they pull a Team Black scenario where the Spartans are wearing prototype armour.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

So long as it's optional for Custom games.

Halo 3 has health, it's just not visible and it regenerates.

If anything, I'd like to actually be able to see where my health is at.

Yes, it works for ODST, I'm sure it will work in Reach. If anything, I think ODST shows that Bungie dislikes the idea of an overpowered, steroid-filled (Hey, it's possible), super-soldier that kills aleins and doesn't afraid of anything.

Health encourages you to think, you can't just go running around all Rambo with no consequences.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

The health system was amzing in CE, and even better in ODST. It makes you play with a much more tactical mindset, not just running in, then hiding a bit and running in again...

  • 10.05.2009 1:13 PM PDT

I'd like it in campaign but not in mulriplayer, cuz halo 3's multiplayer system of health was good, but i like the health in campaign in halo CE so...

Alot of you are gonna be disappointed when they add health.

I can't decide either way. Both ways are fun.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Yes, it adds an amount of Tactical thinking to the play. That and being in Mk V Armor again should revert us back to CE style gameplay altogether.

I have mixed feelings. I agree that there is some tactical aspect to health, but the same is true of no health. I remember playing games like Medal of Honor, running around looking for healthpacks. That was really lame, having to go around and look for health. Then if someone shot you and killed you, it wasn't necessarily because they were better than you, but rather they caught you with lowered health. While it may seem like it would make you more dependent, if someone on the other team is hurt, it's actually easier to run and gun by yourself.

With no health, sure, your shields go back up, but this encourages teamwork. Tired of not killing someone because they beat you and then recharge? Use teamwork to go in and hit him. With health, you could run in against a better player once and die, but then kill him the second time because health systems don't promote fresh starts and the same tactical skillset.

I'm down for health as long as it's like Halo 1's health system (as in not that stamina bull crap and bringing back the health cells that are underneath the shield). Otherwise, keep it how it is.

Ditto. Like halo 3, but we can actually see our health levels.

Health packs make the game more strategic, but I like regenerating health since you don't have to panic when your health is low.

Strategy with shields = Camp until your shields come back up - 5 seconds

Strategy with health = Camp until someone finishes you off - ???

But seriously, I don't know. Both have different strategies associated with them, as well as different flaws of cheapness.

Hell no, health doesn't work for multi-player which is what I play the most.

At least for multiplayer they should say you are testing prototype shielding or something.

No thats not how ODST health work. ODST health just basically means your dead when you take a certain amount of damage. It doesn't cause me to alter my play styloe based on the health. It plays kind of like COD with some back up in some ways.

ODST didn't have MP> if you look at the graphs of players, MP is more important then SP.
