It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

I just played a game and I ended up losing, because my opponent was exploiting a design flaw. You can see exactly what I'm talking about in this image.

He was camping up there with a sniper rifle leaving me with little chance to succeed.

I hope Halo Reach fixes this issue. I'm annoyed when players hide in these areas to get an advantage over their opponent. It is really cheap, because he shouldn't be able to stand there and get an easy kill.

Fix'd

Needed to remove the space.

And, it's pretty fine. It isn't like he's right at the top of the Valhalla base. He's easy to see, so I wouldn't call it a hiding spot and you say he gets easy kills there, not really, more like he gets killed easily there.

Thanks for fixing the link.

Thats where I disagree. There is no way any normal person would look there, because a player shouldn't be able to stand on a ledge next to a window (if thats what we want to call it).

It would be very difficult for anyone to notice the player from any direction. If you came from the left, the pillars are in the way. If you come from the back door, which is where I came, you would be completely oblivious to where he is. If you come from the front door you still wouldn't notice him, because the pillar hides him until you pass it, but when you pass it the window is out of your point of view. With that in mind no logical person should even look up at the window, because it is impossible to get on the second pillar unless you climb a small ledge. Also, if you take time to look up your going to eliminate some of peripheral vision which might provide an opponent with an opportunity.

No game will ever be perfect; expecting such will inevitably let you down every time. He got in an exploit, so what ? Make sure you don't run out in the open giving him easy kills. Halo: Reach, and all games for that matter, will always have something unfair. It's a game, move on. Although i have to say, as bungie keeps making games these things tend to show up less often. Don't worry.

Bungie All Star Contest Winner Weeks 6,8 and 12

Every game will have exploits.

Patches are good for stopping some of them, but there are others that you just can't stop.

I agree that there some exploits that you really can't do anything about, but it is frustrating sometimes. I do have to say Bungie did do a good job when compared to some other games *cough* Gears of War *cough*.

I definitely disagree with that, especially if your hiding in areas such as this.

im not against you im just that kinda gamer i would use exploits to get ahead like getting Vidmaster classic in 3 minutes in my first few tries.

To me it really depends on the situation. I don't see anything wrong in taking a ghost and driving past everyone to get the Vidmaster achievement. But when it comes to "competing" then I do see a slight problem. But hey its only a video game and it really doesn't affect my life in any way, shape, or form.

*Cough* COD *cough* Lot of exploits in both of those games. Good thing Infinity Ward barely patched some of them a couple months ago before the release of Modern Warfare 2.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Everybody knows about that, it's the easiest hiding place to reach in Epitaph.

I highly doubt that "everybody" or even the majority of Halo players know about it. Even if thats the case it still doesn't justify it.
