Should there be an option that allows non-members to view forums without being able to post in them? I think it would be handy.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

BAD idea. What would be the point of a blacklist or ban if they could?

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Perhaps assign threads that they can view and perhaps post in

Yes, and there used to be.

Though I suspect that Achronos already knows what a necessity this is.

Hmm good point. All things happen for a reason.

Currently, there's no need for an option to allow Nonmembers to do that...

How would you feel nonmembers constantly coming in to your group uninvited and posting everywhere and crap?

I actually tried to have non-members view the forum in my group/chapter. As for the blacklist you can blacklist those who are not a member of your group yet. Just manually add their name in blacklist management.

As for now I keep my group open and on an ocasion I have a few "bouncers" members who join the chapter and leave, then join again later. I am prety much cool with that.

Other than that I leave the news and resources open to non-member.

I loved the fact that "higher" members could talk about things on the same forum without letting "lower" members see what they were saying.

It would only allow non-members to VIEW the forum i.e. not post in it.

yeah it would be helpful to know the content of a group before joining it. To be able to see what goes on in the forum, and decide whether or not you want to participate before you join.

Yes, that's it. A new member could see a lot about what a group is about without joining it. It would help them see if the group is right for them.
