How should they be? I personally think they should be like how they were in H2. Since if we had the H3 Brutes it would be too similar to Elites since we're going to fight Elites.

EDIT: Just vote for H3 Brutes if you like how they were in ODST.

Voted Halo 3 even though their AI was boring, I'd like to see the Halo 3: ODST Brutes.

If there's brutes in Reach, Bungie r doin it wrong.

But seriously, I'd be amazed if there was. They might be able to get away with it if "Fall of Reach" hadn't been written, but yeah, not now.

I never got ODST, is the Brutes' AI that different from ODST compared to H3?

Brutes have been in the Covenant since before Harvest was glassed. Just because they don't appear in The Fall of Reach (which was in the time period where Elites were considered the most honorable fighters and were probably the ones that lead squads into "sacred" places, not the destructive Brutes) doesn't mean they weren't actually on the planet. The Fall of Reach was released at the same time Halo: CE was released, of course there were no Brutes in it, they weren't actually shown in the story until Halo 2. It doesn't break the cannon to put them in Halo: Reach. And now you know, the rest of the story.

Of course it wouldn't break canon to bring Brutes in, but maybe we fight them in a Covenant ship, off of the planet.

Halo 3 ODST Brutes, because they actually fixed most of the problems with normal Halo 3 Brutes being boring.

From the invasion of Reach to the end of the war was about 8 months, 8 MONTHS, you hear that? 8 MOTHER -blam!-ING MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know what that means? Things that weren't in older books and games weren't there because they hadn't yet been added to the Canon but did exist at the time. Practically everything in Halo 3 was around during Reach. Things don't change that much in that short of a time.

Well the main argument is that it would break the cannon. I know we shouldn't necessarily fight them on the ground, but maybe, like you said, on a ship or something. Or maybe we could play as another character on another part of the planet fighting the Covenant at some point in the campaign.
