Well I dont know about you people but....somehow the planet in Halo 3 WILL have some kind of connection with Halo: REACH...or they would make another game explaining it, its not like its just there for no reason.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

No, it has no connection with Reach.

They said the same thing when some people suggested the world is not flat. They said the same thing when people suggested the Earth is not the center of the Universe.

It's there because it's the end of Halo. It's the gate to a new series. Although you don't necessarily have to know what happens to the Master Chief. It's obvious he goes on fighting battles once Cortana figures out where they are. The line "wake me when you need me" shows that idea perfectly. His story is over. He will continue fighting anything that attempts to disrupt the human way of life, that's the way it is. Reach is completely separate from him, aside from a short space-op before the planet is glassed.

And then there are the people who think that the Bush family is a race of shape shifting alien reptiles who need to feed on human blood to maintain their form.

Said people who proved the earth was a spheroid and not the center of the universe had science and reasoning to back them up. The OP does not. What the OP has is a hunch. One that is probably inaccurate given what we know about Reach.

Don't forget he went back to save the surviving Spartans and Doctor Halsey.

Rule 6: Respect the Admins

“It’s their website, and they can do whatever the hell they like with it. You’re a guest, and hassling them about how they run things is akin to going round your Auntie’s house and curling one out in her tea-pot.”

No connection to reach. The only worthwhile tale to tell about reach is the spartans training and the fall of reach.

And since in the teaser reach was undersiege already, it can only be the fall of reach. It is not that hard to comprehend.

Oh, and reach was glassed and destroyed so I don't think it is even there at the end of halo 3.

Edit: the Idea of a game aside from reach explaining Chief's fate is plausible, but unlikely.

What I am saying is not that I believe the planet at the end of Halo 3 is Reach because it cannot be. I am saying, however, that we know NOTHING about this game. Or... next to nothing.

His guess is as good as her guess and her guess is as good as Obama's guess. Only teh Bungies know.

And how do we prove the ship floating towards the planet is even the ship Chief was in? How do we know for sure it is not a preview to Reach?

Need I remind anyone, there is no shortage of wrecked and destroyed UNSC vessels after the Battle of Reach. It could be Reach and have no relation to Master Chief for all we know.

Fair enough, allow me to explain to you why I believe they are not connected.

>Reach is a prequel.
>Bungie has stated in the past that they value canon and will not go back and change it for the sake of a game.
>Halo 3 is in the future.
>Time travel is one logical way of linking the two together.
>However, that would involve changing the canon, which bungie doesn't want to do.
>Plus, think of other videogames that have time travel central to their plot. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 anyone? Time Travel can make stories incredibly lame fast. Who cares about the hero and his struggles when he can just time travel and fix everything?

It just doesn't work out. You wonder why they added in that planet at the end of Halo 3 then? So other game developers could continue the story if they wanted to, but as for Bungie, they are just making Reach and then they will move on to new-not-owned-by-microsoft intellectual property. Its kinda how JK Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter book without knowing how the series was going to turn out.

I agree with you, Hylebos. Chief's ship cannot be at Reach. However, we have no proof that the ship and the planet are NOT relative to Reach. We have no proof that the ship is a destroyed UNSC ship and the planet is Reach. With no relations to the Chief.

My evidence for this pretty weak argument is that Bungie started production for Reach right when Halo 3 shipped which leads me to believe a small team started working on it beforehand (storyline, etc.)

So, it COULD be Reach, but not relative to the Chief.

Well yeah, but that's not believed to be part of Halo: Reach.

I always thought that planet was another one of the Forunner's numerous shield worlds. For people that say the two can be linked through possible time travel, Slipspace is in no way related to time, merely density of dimension. Slipspace is explained in the books as an alternate dimension that is slimmer than normal space, and therefore it is used for traveling that would normally take thousands of years through space. The planet at the end of Halo 3 could not be Reach because it was a ghost world by this time.

Is this really the first time you've seen something in a Halo game that is there for no reason? It's very possible that that planet is just another pointless easter egg that leads to nothing.

I'll also apply some physical evidence to Hylebos' arguments. Reach and legendary ending have different colored suns, different surfaces, and different surrounding space. Now, are you saying you are still going to believe it is Reach?

The only thing we are certain about is that we are uncertain. Of course it Could be Reach, but then again it could be Unicorn land. The evidence provided points to the contrary that Reach is not the legendary ending planet.

Since when is the Earth in the Center of the universe? The Universe is infinite how do we even know where the center is?
