Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

Now as we all know, there are many ideas that people are coming up with in this game and most of them are pretty bad.
I think that too many people in this forum are saying ideas are good when infact they suck. Sure it would be great if we would fly a pelican, have armor traits but would it work? Probably not. Think about if it would actually work in the game next time you vote yes for "scarab guns in Matchmaking".

Oh and also, whoever hasn't read the books or doesn't know about the Halo canon should not be discussing whether or not a gun should be in the game or the storyline

Okay..?

I'm just saying that too many people come up with stupid ideas and other people agree when they havn't even thought about whether it would work properly in the game, and that is the whole point of the forums, to discuss ideas that could be implemented into the game.

I agree 50% of Reach ideas are from people who have not read the novels!

Sriously read the novels or you are going to be wroung and humiliate yourself.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

There are people who have read the novels but then turn out to be staff captains so their ideas aren't useful to anyone.

I've read the graphic novel, it's like a massive comic book, I'm only 12.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Personally I feel that to have a good idea, one needs to consider the practicality of that idea, and that is something that is lacking from far more than 50% of the posts on this forum.

Although I must say that the canon as set in the novels is not the measuring stick for things like weapon placement in the games. Bungie writers have commented before that there are certain things that are more than likely to be re-written or retroactivly changed with new media. A good example of this is the novel "Contact Harvest" and it's inclusion of the BR. While I certainly hope that the BR will not be featrued in "Reach" (at least not in it's current form) it is inaccurate to say that it for sure will not.

I think there is great benefit to getting to know the universe that Halo exists in before putting forth ideas, but some of the best ideas spring from pure creativity. All that being said, I still am a firm believer in keeping things practical, some of the more fantastic ideas just get way too far off the realm of what is possible within the Halo universe.

Finally it needs to be said that a persons MM rank has nothing to do with the understanding of the game or their ability to come up with a good idea. There are few things that irritate me more than seeing someones response to an idea be as foolish as "your just a low rank BK, you don't know what your talking about", that is so amazingly ignorant.

Yes, because people who play lots of Social, or who can't get to the rank of Major definitely cannot have ideas about what should be in a game. It makes perfect sense!

Agreed.

Halo is more than "a good game"

  • 10.06.2009 1:06 AM PDT

Agreed
I'm tired of seeing people post perks in reach? Or classes in reach?
This isn't COD-HALO

and to the exalted mythic dude
here's something practical
how can there not be a battle rifle on reach?
Reach is then military hub of the unsc. Anything and everything will be On reach. There will be some form of the br on reach. Sgt Johnson cannot be the only person ever to field test it

  • 10.06.2009 1:26 AM PDT

Most kills in the world with the Storm rifle in halo 4, the Plasma Repeater in halo reach, and the Plasma rifle in halo 3.
check out my youtube channel

i think that halo reach should have most of the things if not all of the things bungie tuck so long to make like duel welding and most of the weapons, with whatever new things bungie can come up with

  • 10.06.2009 1:30 AM PDT

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

Put simply in the words of Nietzsche as "the will to nothingness".

It's reach, it should have every weapon available and I mean every weapon.

Great minds discuss ideas

Average minds discuss events

Small minds discuss people

The other problem is that if there is a good idea, or one that can be modified into a better idea, the other people just go "great job! But I don't think it would work". The OP is right, there are a lot of stupid ideas around here, but the good ones are also being drowned out by worthless comments

  • 10.06.2009 4:35 AM PDT

I was actually going to make a topic like this the other day. I agree completely. Stuff like dual wielding swords, scarab guns, bringing back the ODST pistol (because users around here have the crazy idea that it's the same as the Halo 1 pistol even though it's the same bull$hit that was in Halo 2, only with a scope on it to fool you), as well as a slew of other ridiculous un thought out ideas are annoying to see. And it's even more dumbfounding to see when people actually agree with that.

Why? What purpose would that serve? Why would making the game a jumbled mess of weapon mash-ups be a good idea?

These are the things that no one considers when they put up their "I wan't" dribble. It's one thing to explain an idea, and have it actually make sense, but just putting "I wan't" doesn't make anything a good idea.

I agree with you 75%.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

Practicality certainly defines what can and can't be in Reach, but I like to look at this from another side. Out of the many ideas in this thread, few are practical, and even fewer will be considered by Bungie. What I care about is that the community is actually thinking, and offering their ideas in a public forum.

True, it does get annoying at times if an idea is outright impractical, but it was an idea nonetheless. We can't expect the whole community to consider that their idea is completely without flaws, as that is impractical. However, we can expect the community to keep coming up with all these ideas and occasionally we will find a diamond in the rough, and those are what matters.

agreed.

I find myself constantly frustrated with people saying 'omg der cant be brs coz dey only made em in h2 omg etc'

READ 'contact harvest' for god sake, or at the very least, look at the front cover if you cant read!
