Personally, I'd like a whole new engine for this one. It'd just be nice to see something new from Bungie! And yes, I have ODST and I really loved it, but I think it definitely could have used a different engine. It still felt like I was playing as John, just with less armor.

Already confirmed. It's called more often as the AAA Engine which is a new engine that will be used in future Halo games made by 343 Industires.
But, Halo 3 Engine is the much better? Really? *Facedesk*

It's already confirmed that Halo Reach will use a new engine.

"AAA Engine" isn't the name of the engine, by the way. It just means that Bungie aims to make it, well, a really good engine.

The engine in Halo 3 and ODST is just called the Halo 3 Engine, so I presume the name of the engine in Halo Reach will just be called the Halo Reach engine.

You thought ODST was a different engine? No way. All they did was change a few of the factors within Halo 3's existing engine.
