Do you guys think more CoD-like controls would work good in reach? Dashing, iron sights, knifing and what not...just thinking about it.

I'm just a guy like you that plays halo.

Halo should never be realistic, never.

Personally, I think an actual "skilled" person in Halo 3 is someone who knows how to win with every weapon and combo in the game, not just a single weapon like the BR, Sniper, or even the AR. Of course, that excludes me, as I have yet to get a kill with dual plasma pistols. :D

I wouldn't mind a running option, but otherwise no. I'd prefer Reach to still keep the Halo feel to it.

Enough with the messages,
I don't want to join your stupid groups.

How a soldier tightly gripping a weapon can, in a split second, pull a knife out of its holster, stab someone, then put it back is beyond me.
I prefer meleeing with my weapon.

All things considered, Halo is fine how it is.
However, it would be cool if plasma weapons were more realistic, it would ruin gameplay though, that's why I'd never put it in, but to have plasma bolts melting off limbs and decimating tons of infantry would be pretty awesome.

Halo is realistic. Realistic in the sense that bullets do in fact kill people, and gravity works right. Other then that... it should stay the same to a degree. I'd like to see it be more dark and gritty, but not to the "OMG SOOPER SRS" game that CoD feels like.

No need for iron sight an automatic crosshair is equipped in a spartans visor, spartans dont need to sprint there fast anyway, and a spartans punch is more effective than a knife seeming as there super strong

Posting on bungie.net should require that the user has had to have read a chapter book all the way through.

COD is horrible. Keep it Halo.

Good points. One should also note that even Marines get combat neural interfaces, that project a HUD over their eyes. Which does explain why there's no iron sights at all on the weapons. Scopes I can understand, but iron sights vs. a smart-link HUD is no contest in my book. The Sprint button idea is a little silly, I think, as Spartans already are running when you push the stick all the way forwards, and the punch/melee is powerful, and you don't need to pull out a knife, which speeds up gameplay.

I'm not saying I like CoD, I just wanted to see what the forum thinks.
