I cant believe I never thought of this. Basically it's Halo Wars. Well not exactly.
One person is made captain at random. The game starts and there is the covenant team and a UNSC team. Each team has their own base which they must protect. The captain has the ability to bring up a Real Time Strategy styled screen where he can buy, sell and command. With each kill a soldier gets, the money count goes up 100. From there the captain can buy new base protection, new armor for his base, viechles or give new weapons/armor to other soldiers. For the armor/weapon thing, every UNSC soldier starts with stamina and an assault rifle, every covenant soldier starts with stamina and a plasma rifle. The captain is able to pick a player, choose armor or weapons and buy one for that person. A notice appears on the players screen asking if they would like to accept. The captain is also able to go into battle but he if he ends up dying twice that team is without a captain. The goal of the game is to destroy the opposite teams base. I was thinking 24 players a match would be cool but if that isn't possible...Either way, I was also thinking about maybe 4 maps, all ranging from medium to fairly large so that the fights feel more along the lines of team-based. The maps would hopefully include:
-A Spartan Training Camp-Medium
-A Small city area-Large
-Covenant controlled UNSC base-Medium
-Secret, underground Covenant tunnel. -Very long but more linear.
