Let's face it, nobody dual wields anymore. I mean sure in that rare occasion you pick up two weapons but do we really need it anymore? The Halo CE / ODST pistol was an instant fan favorite. and the Halo 3 pistol? it's that one weapon you give to people in custom games when you don't want them to kill anyone by shooting. In my opinion, Dual wielding should have died when it was ahead in Halo 2.

this is a tricky one. yes a spartan should be able to weild two weapons and, bungie would have to completely overhaul the weapons damage settings, but i have notice gameplay is smoother with out it, and it could free up button for oh say a night vision, a fire selection switch, or melee block and grapple

i think it should stay because you are a spartan and everyone knows spartans can dual weild

  • 10.06.2009 7:41 PM PDT

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

Dual Wielding in Halo 3 is almost useless. But worked very well in Halo 2. Halo 3 gives you 25% less damage when dual wielding. Why is this?

I think Dual Wielding still has advantages, and should be kept in the Game, it's one thing that makes halo so unique t oany other game.

taking away duel wielding is like taking away a part of halo! bungie needs to stop kissing MLG *ss and keep halo the way it should be!

Nobody uses the normal pistol. We can just take that out too. "Nobody" is going to miss it. Same for territories. Screw the people who like rocket race, nobody likes default territories, so that gametype has to go too. I don't like to use the sniper rifle very often either, and I have some friends that also don't like to use the sniper rifle veyr often so we can take that out as well. Because our small sampling *must* represent the entire Halo community.

Why would you take away a playing style that some people use? What benefit would it have? Absolutely none. "I don't like it or use it so it has to go" is not a valid reason for getting rid of dual wielding.

I thought dual-wielding sucked in halo 3 in odst they gave the smg a nice kick to it it was like halo one again and to make up for it the pistol got its 2times scope back so no dual-wielding : )

well possibly because it could free up those weapons so they could be effective without having to dual wield them? ODST did it beautifully

If the removal of dual-wielding means making weapons more powerful, versatile, and unique, then by all means take it out.

Both Halo 2 and Halo 3 could have been alot better without it, I could surmise. It was an interesting concept, but it really should have died with sprinting and corner-looking.

Chief vs the scarab? I find that hard to believe to roundhouse boot the scarab's figurative emotion out of the gaming zone.

I dual wield. This needs to stay in the game to appease me.

Thank you.

You have a problem.
You have a cut on your arm.
It could get infected.
You could get sick.
The obvious solution is to cut off your arm.

...Seems a bit drastic yes? There are ways to balance the dual wielding weapons so they can be useful on their own and useful while dual wielded. Getting rid of dual wielding to accomplish the former option might get the job done, but there is going to be a whole lot of unnecessary blood shed and sacrifice.

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

I want the dual wieldable plasma rifles and the powerful non-dual wieldable ones with a plasma freeze.

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

What they should do is remove dual wielding all together.

Re-balance all of the weapons as single wieldables, but with more depth than in the other Halo games (i.e. pulsing with the AR would actually bring you up to midrange, or single shotting it mid-long range, etc.)

Then select some weapons which could be dual wieldable. Make the animations to dual wield them.

When you do dual them, your ammo capacity is split in two (can only carry as much for 2 weapons as for 1), massive reticle climb occurs, you need to reload them separately, and the range would be cut down to close range.

Maybe only one reticle and set of weapon schematics would show up on your HUD... explained by an older software from the Mk V armor that only tracks one weapon at a time. So you would have to guess the status of your left hand weapon.

i prefer not having it. i mean, techincally, while dual weilding it should be incredibly innacurate...and reloading would take at least 3 times longer than usual...

Remove it so they can focus on making the weapons good without being good but weak enough to hold two of them. Then take those perfectly balanced weapons and allow us to dual wield them, but with less ammo, range and accuracy than while single wielded.

What about shields? Awesome vehicles? Unique enemies?

That aside, why would you take out dual wielding. There's no point to take it out, simple as that.

Sure there is, look at the Plasma Rifle/Pistol in Halo 1. Now look at them in Halo 2 & 3, 'nuff said.

Your guide to everything Halo: Halopedia

IMO, I would like to see Reach be a true throwback to Halo: Combat Evolved as Halo: CE begins where I suspect Reach ends. I know that a lot of people felt that Halo 3: ODST was a throwback to the original game, but I need something more. All of this being said, there was no dual-wielding in Halo: CE, and there shouldn't be dual-wielding in Reach.
