A: I think the game has changed too much.

B: I wanted to be different.

C: It has live and I thought it would be fun but I got owned by lil' kiddies now I'm crying because of unbalanced weapons and hate Bungie for it and I'm to retarded to just stop my -blam!-ing and play campaign.

D: My friends used peer pressure to get me to hate it and/or bribed me.

E: I thought halo2 was going to be the perfect game for me even though I hate FPS's then I whined to Bungie because they couldn't make a game that fits everyones taste.

F: I got blacklisted from b.net and I wanted to get revenge by being a dick.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know you probably think they're retarded answers but some people are like that and if you want to vote for 'a' because you think thats what would really suit you then please do so.

halo:ce=halo2 Don't be different just to get attention, until then be normal and don't abuse other people/flame/verbally attack ninjas etcetc.

you didnt really leave very specific responses, what really gets ppl mad about h2 is the memory of playing h1 in all its forms and remembering how skill use to be a major part of victory, h2 can be a real joke sometimes. games never really end up close either for team games, the ones that whore the power weapons (generally getting them by luck then crushing competition before they can dump their smg for something better) will always win (if they dont totally blow ass) and not by a small margin. if you want a bunch of valid reasons go to halo2sucks.com their are a few ppl that are just little -blam!-es because they suck at h2 but the way i see if you arnt really that good unless you were good at both

Where is the "none of the above" option? I play Halo 2 very often and it is a good game but what sucks about it is that the winner of a fight is practically determined by luck. They spawn near the Sniper Rifle, you spawn with the Rockets.

Unless they miss every shot (impossible with Halo 2's beefed up auto-aim) then you get sniped lose your power weapon, the enemy collects all the best weapons while you are waiting to respawn and they camp with the snipers while you can do nothing but hide, or run out spraying your SMGs that have a useful damage radius of about 4 feet. I know this because I've been on both ends and it feels retarded on both sides.

Halo 2 is rock paper scissors. You get one power weapon (maybe two if you have lucky spawns) and the other team gets another. One team gets rock (sniper) other team gets scissors (rockets) rock beats scissors and then rock gets a chance to get paper (vehicles) while scissors are taken away from you. It's annoying to play a game where your skill at the game doesn't matter it is demoralising to realise there is no point in even trying to get good, all you need to do is learn to camp.

Whereas in Halo 1, the pistol gave you a chance against all power weapons if you learned how to use it, how to kill quickly with it. You played and played and played until you got better and it was fun to learn more about the game and be better than the other guy, not just hope you spawned by the context-sensitive superior power weapon.

Hope this explains something. If it doesn't then I think people who like Halo 1 should give up trying to explain this over and over again. :)

Well you gave pretty dumb answers, but I didnt like it as much as I thought I would've just because it was way too overhyped.

Not having a server browser. Halo 2 has potential, but being forced to play it a certain way sucks. People that play Halo CE don't use default settings. They play Slayer Pro settings because it's more enjoyable and uses more skill. I understand they made Halo 2 for "casual" gamers, but a lot of us want to play a more skillfull game. I didn't play $50 to try to set up custom games all the time. I can do that at XBConnect for free. Playing SMG starts with radar on just because the guys at Bungie prefer that style of game play is aggravating.

See, with my old LAN friends who refuse to play Halo 2, it's for a very simple reason.
They thought they were Gods at Halo 1, and Halo 2 was made Live enabled, they were forced into the harsh reality that there are players out there that were better than them.
I think a lot of Halo 1's "skilled" player group has a problem with this.
It's not the game.
It's not the auto-aim
It's not the weapon balancing.
It's the idea that since you "ruled" Halo 1, you should "rule" in Halo 2 by default.
I mean, seriously, if you Halo>Halo2 guys think Halo 2 is so EASY for people to play, then you should never be complaining about it on Bungie.net. If Halo 2 is handicapped for casual players, then seasoned Halo veterans should be mopping the floor regularly with the blood of your opponents....but no....you're here. Listing every excuse imaginable to try and explain why you're not as good at Halo 2 as you were in the first game. Yeah, Halo 2 has differences that change it from Halo 1, but it aint THAT different. I adapted, my friends adapted and thousands of other players adapted to the changes---yet the so called "skilled" contingent is up in arms about how their H1 skills don't work that well in H2. Tough. Get over it. If you don't like what you're seeing on XBL Halo 2, then cancel your subscription if Halo 2's the only game you play. Play it LAN just like Halo 1. Go to any Gaming site, and they'll have your server lists, they'll have your Custom Game Type rules all ready and waiting, and most of the sites have pretty good stat tracking systems if you feel Halo 2's current system doesn't work to your specifications. If that doesn't work for you, then follow the same instructions, except put your copy of Halo 1 in the XBox.
As for you guys not agreeing with Bungie's set-ups....well that's one of the perks for them-they made the damn game.

^^^^^^^^ So, you're saying that if Bungie liked playing with nothing but needlers and all players invisible, you'd be more than happy? No, you'd be upset too. Setting up custom games is a pain in the butt, that's why it needs a server browser.

A2Alpha-I hope you do realise there's this little thing called xbconnect, where people can play Halo 1 online. OMGZORZ!11

Maybe your friends stopped playing because of that, or maybe that's just what you think, but a large portion of people think Halo 1>2, and the only reason it's played so much is because it's Halo, online, easily.

I think halo2's weapons are more fair because...

*Needler can't home half of battle creek at such high speeds you can't react.
*Sprawning at only the bases on blood gulch really sucks because you go into the base hoping for a weapon, then you run into some idiot whos camping with the shot gun, you either (a) die (b) run out into the open and get sniped by one of the other six players... fixed in halo2 + rock slides for cover :)
*plasma rifle doesn't stun - helps you escape a lot.

Also, the smgs are not bb guns, I killed so many elites with duel smgs at the start of cairo station on heroic. They died in what felt like 10shots from each gun. All head shots. I owned them, I guess what makes it suck is that a human player can strafe and you feel like an idiot after losing to another person.

As for the magnums. I killed an honor guard in less than 24shots heroic, Delta halo. If I died would I complain to Bungie? No, because it was an ai. Of couse, if it was a human play I would have cried and said it was unfair.

Sir Vival....uhm, yeah, I know about XBC...and Gamespy, and MLG, and lots of others. When I said "Gaming Sites"....those are the ones I was referring to.....sorry if I was too vague for you to catch that. My Bad.

HeavyMetal1.....I was trying to keep my post short, but I'll elaborate on why I think Bungie should be the final word on the playlists if "being the makers of the game" wasn't enough.
Bungie should decide, because it is Bungie that will never allow completely whack Playlists like Team Invisible Needles. It's probably hard for many of you to believe, but Bungie are probably their own biggest critics, and they have to look for ideas that will better the game on the whole, rather than divide it up into nitpicked Playlists. I wouldn't mind seeing Team Slayer Pro Variants pop up more often in TS, but does it really need it's own playlist? Not really, in my opinion. It's just not different enough to require it. Shrugs.
As for server lists, it wouldn't be a bad idea if the games were completely devoid of rank, since the sheer variety of game variants would make it too simple to exploit otherwise.
I just don't think the combination of Matchmaking and Server Lists would work. It'd have to be one or the other....and I myself prefer Matchmaking. I'm too lazy to browse server lists anymore. I need the direct injection.
Happy gaming.

PS....about the Needler......we have Team Rockets, Team Sniping, Team Rifles, Team Pistols, Team Swords......dang...we DO need a Needler game variant.

Well, I use Charmin toliet paper, but they don't tell me how I should wipe my ass, and they are the makers of the toliet paper. When you play other games, they don't try to flex their ego and try to tell you how to play it.

OK Heavy, most other companies don't flex their ego and tell you how to play it, because most companies don't give a -blam- about their games once they hit the shelves. And if you haven't noticed, Halo 2's online system is quite a bit different from most other online set-ups. Dare I say innovative? Probably dangerous with this crowd. Bungie's not forcing you to play a certain way, customize all the gametypes you want. When it comes to matchmaking, they're trying to keep the playing field LEVEL, by not letting people sit in the same game with the same people everytime. Maybe you're mad because you can't play Team Snipers on Ascension over and over and over again for rank. I don't know. But since all you can respond with are mildly amusing quips that you have to edit mulitple times to get right before you post, I'll just leave you be. Peace.

Well, do you little girlscouts have a right to complain? Bungie didn't promise a good game, they just said it was going to be on fire going at 130mph through a hospital zone being chased by helicopters and flaming ninjas.

Halo2 wasn't meant to suit 100% of people now face it. Noone is making you play it, so stick with halo:ce - which I think is getting boring compared to halo2 because of the lack of abilities: stealth, hijacking etcetc and new: vehicles, weapons, enemies... anyway thats my opinion.

Opinion: Halo2 is a noob game.
Fact: Halo2 is one of the most successful games on xbox ever
Fact: 83%+ of halo 2 online population is below level 25 whats that equal a bunch of newbs

No one would be able to complain if halo 1 was on live if they made the settings of matchmaking gametypes the same as Mlgpro. Hell I probably wouldn't consider halo 2 bungies worst game if it's matchmaking was mlg gametypes but no bungie wants to make all the newbs happy that play h2. Do you realize that if they asked anyone that was from decent to pro and understand competitive gaming that everything in h2 would be different? Most people do not have enough time to play and get a 4 player team set up for tournaments. Though h2 has teamwork the individual skill is about equal for everyone it's just playing together that matters thats why you see the top ffa playerslist switching up so much. Go to mlgpro and quit thinking h2 isn't a newb game match making is pointless to tell true skill because it's so random. Just stfu all you newbs hell I wish it was possible for you to see things our way but the true halo 1 fan not all you newbs see the mistakes that bungie made. It's sad I used to think I'd have something I could do for along time that'd stay fun but since the release of h2 ,h1 tournaments are practically gone and of course we are not going to lan h2 unless I somehow could get my sister to invite her other 7 year old friends over because basically only newbs like holding a smg that shoots the length of a yardstick and does as much damage as spraypaint. Go to mlg philly and then tell me h1 doesn't smoke h2 in skill learning curse. Almost every fire fight between top players in h1 is a epic battle unlike most of the pp br shots you see them get or the super easy snipes, alright walshy triple melees are sick but that the only cool h2 thing i think i can't do and that's because he claws. all i'm saying to you grunt is you are a newb I could take you your host any gametype halo 2 or halo 1 xbc so stfu.

Well, at least I can make my arguments without turning them into personal attacks.

Yes, I could make custom games, but I could sit there for hours or even days without anyone joining because they don't self populate. You have to "spam" your friends list, then hope your friends that join spam their friends list to get enough people to play a decent game.

I could care less about rank. In fact, I was one of the first who advocated getting rid of, or at least hiding the rank system. Halo CE could be hacked/modded also, but people didn't see the need because there WAS no rank system. Out of more than ten thousand games played of H1 I ran into cheaters maybe 10 times. People just didn't see the need, and were more than happy just to play a fun game cheat free.

I don't see why you would want to attack me in the first place. I said before that I thought this game has potential, and I still do. Not having a server browser IS a big mistake. They still could have had the ranking system, and I would have still played it. But, I think they don't take advantage of all of the options build into this game. I would like to see them use "force even teams", turn off friendly fire from time to time (would help with team killing), have some games where you CAN drive a vehicle if you have the bomb/flag. Since the last update, the gameplay has improved a great deal. Before it was nothing but SMG starts, and now they at least have a little variety. But, even with that I get tired of playing with the same rules all the time. I want to play some no radar games, but without self populating games, I'm not going to go through the bother of trying to create my own. Maybe I'm in the mood for an all rockets game, but I don't think I should have to wait through 30 games before one comes up. Lack of choice is what kills the fun in this game, not to mention the lack of control to have a choice.

The system they use is innovative. It's basicly an experiment. But, how many innovative games or products in general have come and gone that just didn't quite hit the mark? Since the auto update, I no longer have the problems with weapons I once did. That isn't what I'm trying to argue here. My problem is with the matchmaking system, or more importantly, the lack of a server browser. I don't give a crap about rank.

You don't have Live? They why are you arguing on this subject at all? Most peoples complaints have to do with multiplayer, not the campaign. I had my problems with the campaign, but lets face it, that isn't why I bought this game. To me that was simply training to get me accustomed to the new weapons before hitting multiplayer.

Yes, we know, Bungie did a suck ass job of XBL. Nah, JK the reason why multiplayer sucks is because the player sucks. You can't always win.
