I got to Set 6, Round 2, Wave 5 on Heroic GETTING ME RECON! ;)

ok, bungie. Make sure k, that when your in a vehicle and its being shot. or have the shot of a bullet steer away a vehicle in a completely different direction that it wont effect your health, it would affect the vehicle its self...Make this at least some sort, a bit more realistic in that aspect. kbai.

But then my vehicle would eventually die and wouldn't be able to "recharge" along with my shields.

Oh noes, your vehicel is no longer overpowered.
I like the idea, it was that way back in halo:ce, I never understood why bungie changed it...

Signatures are for squares.

This actually gives me a decent idea for Reach.

Vehicle health bars return, and around the map, there could engineers that repair said health. This would add a new level of integration into Halo Reach, and could allow for some interesting battles, as Engineers repair everything, so if they're killed it's bad for both teams.
Thoughts?

Yes, but then its pretty much worthless. There are other ways of making not-overpowered vehicles than giving them finite unrechargeable health.

The vehicle should take 90% of the damage...I can live with taking a bit.

exactly, seperate vehicle health. and not all health for each vehicle would be the same either - .-

or just stations not even engineers. u drive over a determined platform and your vehicle would take a certain amount of time to repair much as capturing a territory or what not. this WOULD add alot more skill and teamwork to this "new matchmaking." Bungie, please.

Or you could have a repair "gun" like in Star Wars BattleFront II

I'm not 100% clear on your idea so shun and flame me as you see fit. As I see it, you want the vehicle to take damage when in a vehicle rather than yourself, ALWAYS. The problem is, most vehicles, already do this in Halo 3. It is realistic in the sense that, visible (or the vulnerable) spots are exposed to being shot at. If you shoot at the back of a Warthog, you don't take damage. However, somebody's spread might go through on of these visible spots - have you seen how exposed a driver is in a Warthog and Mongoose. In armored vehicles, like the Scorpion and Tank, the doors can actually be blown off to the point where a person is vulnerable to be, essentially four-shotted. Saying it's not realistic is unreasonable. Picture this: a person shoots through the Driver's Seat Window when you're driving - would you take damage?

If you're saying that there should be a separate health bar for the vehicles then you would be pleasantly surprised that we have one already in all Halos in the trilogy. It's just not visible in Halo 2 or Halo 3. Sad face.

In multiplayer that would be too much of a gimmick and less of an "Integration", and could possibly be exploited.

Having random engineers on the map isn't that much of an appealing idea in the first place either.

i swear you only take damage when the person is directly shooting you? I mean if someone is shooting the front of the Ghost or chopper or back of warthog, it doesnt damage you, but your vehicle does. Must check it out. It is relistic if someone is shooting you and some bullets hit you. If someone in real life sprayed machine gun shoots at the back of the your car window, soem bullets may hit you.

i just checked shooting the warthog or chopper etc in places where the driver is not doesn't damage you. only the vehicle gets damages, so this is realistic. So i dont know OP what you mean.

In the case you mean "vehicles have shields, but when the shields are down and you take damage, if the game has a health bar, the health bar is specific to the vehicle and when you eit/change vehicles, the health bar will be back to full/whatever it was originally", you've got my vote. For campaign. Definitely not for multiplayer, well technically yes because it should stop in the "if the game has" part.

If you meant "vehicles should not have recharging anything and can only sustain a constant amount of damage before exploding", then no.
