Sorry to bust any bubbles but bungies done after reach. For good

Well, I think Halo: Reach is the last Halo game by Bungie... in Xbox 360! I'm sure Bungie will make some other Halo games for MicroSoft's next system.

That link is to an article about Bungie's split from Micro$oft. Bungie have never said they're done with Halo, they just said that the current story is over. Micro$oft own the rights to Halo, but that doesn't mean Bungie is finished with it.

The Master Chief and Cortana are drifting towards an unknown planet that could be ANYWHERE in the universe. The fact that they are in a completely unknown location means that Bungie have a completely blank slate with which to create a new game. That could mean a new story with new enemies, new weapons, new locations and much, much more. All this would be tied together by the familiarity of the Master Chief and Cortana discovering it all for the first time, filled with the mystery of the unknown (the very thing that gave Combat Evolved it's incredible feel and atmosphere at the beginning of the trilogy).

Personally, I can't imagine anything more ridiculous than Bungie quitting now. There's so much they could do, and there's a huge market eager for it.

ST ANGER UK, I think Bungie has not finished with Halo yet. But I have to say that Master Chief and Cortana go to Reach in Halo 3 Legendary ending. Then Master Chief will remember his fight in that planet. It would work similar to ODST's flashbacks.

So maybe that ending is Halo: Reach and there is not Halo 4 (or should we say "Halo 5"?) clue.

I think I remember some bungie employee saying if Halo: Reach does well enough, there is a possiblity of a new halo game.

Do you really think Bungie isn't going to do more Halo games and resign those $$$$?... What is that thing Halo gave to Bungie? It's money, a very very huge amount of money. Do you really think they would simply resign that money? I wouldn't, would you?

The problem is Bungie doesn't own the rights to the Halo series, Microsoft does. Unless Microsoft asks Bungie to make another Halo game and Bungie agrees, Bungie can not make another Halo game. Also some where it was stated that Bungie is moving on after reach. I will try to find the article.

Edit Even Better! not done after all

This means its still possible. I still think they should stop after reach and that if they make any more that they wont be as good.

i just think that after 6 halo games that if the next one has no true and in depth story it wont be as fun. 6 game in one series is a lot after a while they will just get old and no one will by them because there's been so many. if they do continue they have to be able to have just as intricate and interesting story as they do game play and graphical innovation. they will really have to step it up a notch from what they call a full game (ODST)
i don't want another 2 hour campaign with no multiplayer and a survival mode that didn't even have a matchmaking lobby for it.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Bungie is done with Halo, but Halo is far from over. 343 Industries is taking over all things Halo. At least it's not lead by complete strangers... our dearest Frankie is head honcho over there.

Reach is going to be a huge finale to the Halo Universe for Bungie and something tells me they are going to blow all expectations out of the water because of it.

Regardless, thanks for everything Bungie. You've helped me through some pretty bad times =)

(Just a thanks in advance)

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Bungie is done with Halo, but Bungie lives on, they are working on a new game already, and Halo will live as well, it is being taken over by 343 industries.

Bungie said that as long as the population permits then they will continue to update matchmaking.

That sounds good. Also another question. If halo's population does not permit(Very Unlikely)but if so. What will bungie do? Quit?

Nah, it will be like Halo 2 is now. Still very much playable with a good population. Just no matchmaking updates.

Trust me... Halo is going to be around for a long, long time.

We all know whats gonna happpen. The master chief is going to finally wake up from cyro sleep 300 years later and we have a marathorn remake but with the halo title in it. It will be called Halo: Marathorn. Thats the best way to go i think.

They said Halo 3 was the last game with the Master Chief, not the last Halo game back then. Silly Billy.
