im not sure if the odst smg is gunna be in reach but the odst smg is good at medium ranges and has a sight so that relates to todays accurate smg weapon systems kinda

ok whoever said the br needs a nerf is wrong. it is perfect. it was meant to be an all purpose weapon. sorry if people 4 shot you too much but to solve that pick one up and dont AR charge :)
OT: make Reach a polished version of halo:CE and it will be awesome :P but seriously take out dual wielding make it a more competitive minded game so mlg can actually be a bit more fun.
AR- mess with it somehow i dont like it in some situations. make it weaker close up and stronger further away. probably not possible but idk.
BR- perfect dont mess with it.
beam rifle- dont use it much but i think its fine.
brute shot- bouncing shots like halo 2?
carbine- i love it dont touch it
sword- working perfectly dont change
fire grenade-take out pointless
Flamethrower- for custom games only
frag-fine with me currently
fuel rod- is it even used in multiplayer?
MGT-seems like only the noobs use it but i can kill them anyway :P
magnum-slightly stronger
mauler- the noob combo of halo 3. but i think that it was balanced fine. it is very short range.
missile pod-perfect replacement for a lock on weapon
needler- increase the amt of shots that have to hit you by 1 or 2
plasma cannon-hardly see it so idk
plasma grenade- dont change
plasma pistol-perfect niche weapon as stated before.
plasma rifle- perfect for ripping apart shields keep it as is
rockets-work fine stay as is
sentinel beam-stupid weapon take out its very pointless
shotgun-perfect as is
SMG- stated above
sniper- perfect as it is
spartan laser- ruins vehicle maps please change it to do less damage or less shots or take it out
spike-only works for sticking people would be better if you could plant it to a wall and it blow up when people walk by but i think that would be too complicated and annoying
spiker-too weak shooting wise but reload and melee are good

actually not that i think about it i want them to change the randomness of the shots and increase the bullet speed a little but i like how it works otherwise

I would want it to be a counter sniping weapon which it was originally designed for. i.e. I want it to be a purpose gun instead of a utility gun.

My opinion, but there are many BR threads already and I don't want to turn this into one of them.

im talking about on the maps that incourage vehicle use so maybe have an option to only make it have 2 or 3 shots instead of 5 in vehicle maps

I thought that dual wielding was a result of chiefs armor upgrade in H2. If im right wouldn't there be no dual wields on reach with older armor variants?

1. PRs are perfect as they are, and mix well with other guns. They are great beat down weapons. PPs are also perfect in this game, with minimal followage.

2. I find that I NEVER pick up any of the brute or human dual wielding weapons. They're not absolutely worthless, but they aren't advantageous at all. I think part of this problem is because both the BR and AR are be all weapons. There is really no range between a shotgun and AR that would benefit duals.

3. I think the magnum should be toned down just a little in power, but have the ROF go up. It should be able to kill comparably to a BR to make up for it's lack of range. I think it should be a relatively quick kill in its closer medium range.

4. Rockets are great, but they shouldn't make them the power weapon on some of these CQ maps. They become ridiculously powerful and annoying.

5. Lasers are definitely very powerful and should have their shot number reduced. 2-3 shots would be good.

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

Would you guys prefer getting spawn killed by banshees when your opponents control all the vehicles in Big Team? Without weapons like the spartan laser the banshees and tanks would dominate and you'll find yourself respawning for a majority of MM.

i say bring back the halo 1 ar. make it a rarity though have the smg be alot more common and give it a little firepower boost. have both the automag and the halo 3 magnum (theyre good for different things) also, both kinds of smg (silenced and non) but the silenced variant is a little less powerful, and a little more acurate. rockets are fine laser should be cut or nerfed. sniper, bring back the night vision from halo CE, otherwise keep it the same, halo1 needler, no more dual weilding plasma rifles, but make 'em more powerful, plasma pistols stay the same. fuel rod gun, make the rounds faster and less powerful, like the halo 1 version. keep the carbine. flamethrower stays. brutes are less common on the battlefield. mabye find the occasional chieftain with a few bodyguards. make 'em scarier bigger, louder, more agressive. definately have engineers

NO, I dont see why people have problems with the laser, it must be, because its the most commen way to stop there vehicle rampage.

Both kinds of smg (silenced and non)
I dont see how having both will go for Halo Reach #1 spartans will pick up a battle rifle over a silenced smg because more powerful better range and no need to be silent its an ODST thing, #2 the silenced smg would be a two handed gun where the smg would be duel, so the smg would be more powerful.

It'd be nice to see the engineers again but I dont think there in the Reach story line.

I think they should change the sound of the AR at least back to something that sounds like it did in Halo:CE....the little cackling sounds it makes now in Halo 3 and ODST annoys me, it just sounds under powered...and its my favorite weapon =[ Other than that I'm fine with the way the other weapons are.

bungie has proven that a bunch of monkeys sitting in front of keyboards can randomly type out a masterpiece. the thing is, when you go to play the masterpiece, you cant help but notice all the monkey s**t smeared all over it.

it gets real old having to wait months for someone like mlg to clean off all the monkey poo.

i wont mention br/ar then. they has problems

needler is fine.
human snipe is fine.
rockets are fine.
laser is fine.

assuming they will keep dual wielding in the game:
plasma rifle is fine.
mauler is fine.

sentinal beam is almost fine, needs tiny (10%?) reduction in killtime
plasma pistol is almost fine- needs the battery draining rate when charging to be reduced or eliminated.
bruteshot is almost fine, you need to be able to carry 4 spare clips of ammo for it like all other guns, not 2.
covie snipe is almost fine, 100% ammo should be 15 shots, not 10. (human snipe starts with 12, but has the luxury of being refillable up to 20)
sticky/frags are almost fine, needs only an extra yard of splash damage range

all gun switching, reloading, and melee animations for all guns need to be sped up 20% or so. same with the nade throwing animation.

remove the glitch that causes the hammer or sword to be unresponsive for about a second or so after switching to it. that wont fix the sword and hammer, but would be an improvement.

unrelated note: fix the glitch where you cant move for about 3 seconds after being hijacked.
