Anything is possible when you are a Spy!

Hey there.
I got my own laptop recently, and decided to install CE on it. The problem is my dad decided to clean out his office, and 3/4 of the way sure he threw the disc away. I still have the CD key, and the files are still in his computer. Is it possible to burn the game files onto a writable disc and install on my computer that way?

You certainly can.

Just copy the files it installed to a CD/PC and copy the registry data.

From another post I made a few days ago, since there's no point repeating myself:

Do the following:
Start>Run>regedit then browse to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Halo

Right click the Halo folder on the left, then click Export. Save the file somewhere and move it to your other PC. Once done, simply double click the file and allow it to import the data. Tada, working Halo PC. :)

I went into the registry editor, but there was no Microsoft games folder. I just copied the program files to a USB flash drive. Would that work?

EDIT: Nope, it won't. Dang. What should I do?

Your Microsoft Games folder is in your C Drive. Go to My Computer, and then C Drive. It is usually named after the manufacturer. Here is mine.

My Computer > HP_Pavilion (C:) > Program Files > Microsoft Games

That's where your Halo CE was installed to.

The "regedit" or whatever is for your registry, which you go to Start Menu > Run > and then type the code in. Find the files you need which are mentioned, then copy them, DO NOT DELETE THEM! Do not delete anything in your registry unless you are a tech person. If you delete one file by accident, your whole computer could possible not start up one day. Never delete anything in your registry unless you are a tech person or you get a registry cleaner.

It'll be there. If it's a 64 bit OS you'll need to look for "Wow264Node" and then Microsoft Games. :)

Copying the game files alone won't work.
