RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

I Agree, it feels so much better moving faster, especially on the bigger maps.

Equipment won't even be in Reach most likely, since There was no equipment until Halo 3's timeline.

I'm totally with you on the Long Term Acheivment, but I think it should be very, very long term and made impossible to boost for. And I hope they update their ranking system, TruSkill isnt that bad in my opinion, but it could be better.

I hope they just leave dual wielding out of the game, it's pointless.

The BR will not even be in Reach most likely, because SPARTANS used the Godly Pistol then. I love the Pistol, it's harder to use than the BR though.

Also, I hope they take away Host advantages completely, Kind of like perfect dark zero, it's possible but I'm sure it won't be easy for Bungie to do.

i'd like to keep the BR the way it is and just add a few new weapons which a useful.

Bungie knows what it's doing with the engine mechanics etc but i think most campaign players are just mostly worried about level plus campaign length and encounters being cut sooner than they should

Perhaps you could also mention that we don't want another day at the beach level(Cortana) at least in terms of colours used. Not that it was in any way a bad, level or it's colours

Yes Campaign is equally important as multi to those that still play the hell out of Halo1 - and Halo3 for that matter

As campaign fans we just want this part to be the most epic so far - and this is well within Bungie's capablities providing they pull all stops out

sucks you went threw all that work because this is pretty much the same thing http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=33592670

Glad we agree. But if we didn't, that would be ok too.

I understand what you're saying, but I highly doubt it will be this way. Like I saw another poster say somewhere, it's not like from H1 to H2 MC magically gains the ability to board vehicles, dual wield, become less invisible with the powerup, etc. Just because we didn't use it in H1 doesn't mean it wasn't around in the universe (the BR would have been around in H1, and the pistol wouldn't have disappeared by H2), nor that Bungie shouldn't/can't do it for gameplay reasons.

I completely agree on that one, and I like that you added they shouldn't be ones you can boost for. If they made it 25,000 or more ranked kills, it's hard to do that against other people. The only downside is people could forgo playing the game like it's supposed to be played, and try to lure others into boosting it. But it would be MUCH harder. Making it a compilation of things is a lot harder than boosting a one time event (getting 25,000 kills vs. getting a sword spree).

I wouldn't mind it if they did, but while dual wielded weapons are useless as they are now, imagine how much more useless they'd be alone in a game. We want a variety of weapons, not just the rocks/laser, sniper, BR/carbine, AR. I think one solution could be to tighten the AR spread but reduce the damage, making it more able to ping the BR out of scope and help survive at longer distance, but decreasing its killing ability and short range ability. That would open up a range (between shotgun efficiency end and AR efficiency start) where dual wielding and/or other weapons for that range could be implemented. I really want to see Halo move towards having smart weapon selections, like it used to be.

Right, but Bungie changed that already and probably won't go back to it, but who knows. And if they do bring the pistol back, it will probably be changed a little. I'd love a 4 shot pistol (as long as it doesn't have too high a rate of fire), or even the 3 shot pistol with a high enough ROF. As long as it was accurate and didn't encourage luck and randomization, but had a small scope to keep it from being dominate.

I'm unfamiliar w/PDZ's system. Can you explain please? As far as I know, host can't be helped unless they have servers, which would never happen for such a game with a large following. It would be too costly and would be very high maintenance. However, they could add better options for connectivity and finding like matches. From my experience, this didn't work too well in H3.

.....It's not the same thing at all. While I encouraged campaign ideas after a few posts, this has been focused on multiplayer. I did, however, put your link in the OP because it's the complete opposite of what we're focusing on here. The Campaign people can go over there, b/c that's a pretty good thread.

Even if it was the same thing, isn't that what drives the forums here? Threads live and die...then live again and die again. We repeat ourselves constantly as the ideas are sifted and revamped and resurface. I'm just trying to churn the masses.

I think it should take more melees to kill someone like it was in halo 2.

I agree to a certain extent. I find it ridiculous that I can melee then BR to your head and you die. That's pretty stupid. I think this would be a great way to help balance out some weapons and produce a range for them. Make long range weapons do less melee damage than CQ weapons. Say 4 melees for a sniper, 3 for BR/Carbine, 2 for AR/shotgun, 1 for Sword/Hammer.

I agree melees are too powerful, I think it should take a melee then 2 headshots to get a kill. Also another thing that I think could be changed are the Frag Grenades. I think they should be more than just and assisting weapon, when thrown good enough, is able to get a kill with out having to shoot someone afterwards.

It looks like a Puma?!?

Nice Job!

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

When being boarded in a vehicle, there should be no stun effect, thats just overkill.

Subject: Multiplayer Issues to Address in Reach : Compilation

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

My issues:

Larger maps should have larger map gametypes keyed to them.

Not relying on Host history, actually making the Xboxes do a ping test to see who should be host.

BR Bullets shouldn't have as much "push". As it is in Halo 3, a Warthog can be pushed from Laser Spawn to Tree Camo on Standoff by a team of 3 people shooting it with their BRs.

Non Headshot weapons dealing double damage to flesh with hits to the head.

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

Put simply in the words of Nietzsche as "the will to nothingness".

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

If your going to say a weapon is unfair in SWAT because of no shields your fail. Deal with it lol. The BR is fine, its noobies who cant aim who complain with it. Since HALO2 its been the best weapon and i doubt some bad complaints that it gets headshots after 2 games is going to change it now lol

and you say you dont like it to headshot but then want it to be a single shot super rigle with a good scope, you need to get prioritys right

I can hold my own with the BR.
I still want the BR out the door.

Just another idea...i would really like to be able to disarm an attacker, so the strategy doesn't solely focus on headshots for precision weapons. Someone starts firing a battle rifle at me...i can choose to go head-to-head and see if I can four-shot them first, or try and shoot the weapon out of their hand. In the event a player is disarmed, the weapon falls to the ground....and they are left with the options of picking the weapon back up, switching to secondary, or melee, either way putting them at a disadvantage. In order for this not to be continuously abused...the "disarm box" would be a small area of the hand/wrist area about a third of the size of the headshot box, meaning it would require skillful shooting to accomplish on a regular basis, something that would not be easy at all from long range....i think it would greatly increase combat depth and give a whole new level of bragging rights to those able to do it consistently.

Exactly. I saw some other interesting ideas here, so if anyone wants to second any, I'll think about putting them in the OP. However, the way I was thinking was more along the lines of core gameplay (fixing what we know to be problems or adding what we know needs to be added) as opposed to coming up with grandiose new ideas. I've seen several threads on that already, like for new gametypes, and that's great. But I'm trying to focus on more of the core and the known. When we think of all new types of things to add, it has the potential to create more problems we can't foresee.
