Subject: Seriously, Reach was BEFORE Halo CE, why would their be Brutes?

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

Oh well enjoy your boring ass game fighting the repetitive elite, two jackals, 5 grunts that get killed by one grenade, and occasionally two hunters to get shot at from far away.Instead of being open minded and opening the door for two main enemies for a better challenge.

Who needs dumb brutes anyways, its not like Bungie will fix the mistakes they made on them in Halo 3 or anything.

Just because you didn't see them until Halo 2 doesn't mean they weren't part of the Covenant at the time.

I like Halo, It kills all sentinel life with sufficient bio-mass... and doesn't afraid of anything.

I'd like to see Elites and Brutes, and perhaps signs of the rift between the two lots

That would actually be really cool.

Like, every now and then, you'd see a squad with maybe one brute, and you'd hear some conflict between it and the Elite squad leader.

Good stuffz.

I'm a 15 year old stuck in the middle of nowhere. Machinima director, screenplay writer, novelist, jazz musician, and Photoshop junkie.

Brutes were around. It's just that they were busy doing other things. Bungie was going to include them but decided not too in the first game and rather introduce them in Halo 2.

Feel free to send me messages, please be willing to wait 6-8 years for a reply.

1-7 hours if you at least tried to make it readable.

Immediately if you are Yax, Telec, or legendary.

Never if you are mythic, you guys smell funny.

i suppose i wouldnt mind a few brutes, but im a little tired of having them as the main enemy, i still think there should have been a couple of elite squads in ODST just trying to fight off the brutes or something, that would have made it more interesting.

but if there are brutes they should be a very minor part, since they where below the elites and only really used for small jobs i doubt they will be around too much.

This.

They were in the one of the books I'm quite sure, and in Halo Wars.

What? They weren't in Halo Wars... Unless you're talking about those timeline events which I didn't bother to collect.
They were in Halo Wars... when you first encounter the Flood, Brutes are the first Covenant you face.

Ahh yes yes. I remember now... With the choppers and you have an Elephant.

Warning: You may find that my, or someone else's opinion does not comply with yours. Side effects of disagreement may include (but are not limited to): flaming, irrational behavior, broken keyboards, and/or nervous sweats. If you experience any of these symptoms refrain from communicating with others until the symptoms have subsided.

Brutes were the main ground troops deployed during the First Battle of Harvest. Although, after they disobeyed direct orders, they were punished and were required to give up their power armor. They were also removed from the battlefield, for the most part.

Although, I could see them as an enemy in Reach. I don't, however, think that it would be very interesting to fight power armor-less Brutes (Halo 2).

I think I would prefer they allow the focus to be Elites and introduce at least one new species. The introduction of a new species would be easily implemented and could be explain cannoticaly as them simply becoming extinct due to the the excessive casualties, or they simply aren't seen later (the popular excuse).

With Elites as the main enemy we would also see an emphasis on the Elite ranking system, like Brutes in Halo 3 and ODST (ie. Elite Captain Ultra, Captain Major, etc.). With the current ranks remaining (ie. Zealot, Stealth, Ranger, Honor Guard, etc.).

Hopefully with these changes the enemies will be full of potential and worth.

Exactly,
Seriously, it's not like it's a new race that just appeared out of nowhere after Halo2

Knowing what I was doing was never quite fun.

Isn't it possible that the covenant ship on the first halo just wasn't loaded with brutes? Back then the prophets favored elites over brutes

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

This exactly.

I want to see both Elites, and Brutes. I want signs of the division. I want to see a clear contrast in terms of them and their squads behaviour. The contrast between the more conservative Elites, and the more in your face Brutes. It would be a challenge. But thats what I would like to see.

on reachy their was new technology fro the humans that was lost their so im quite sure that would make up for missing a couple of annoying brutes

  • 10.10.2009 12:49 AM PDT

Because Halo Wars ruined it for us all.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Brutes were at Harvest, they were a part of the Covenant way before the events of Reach.

I still don't want to see Brutes in Reach though, the main enemy better be Elites.

A Halo 2 player never dies, they are just Missing in Action

I thnk Oasis is a pretty cool guy. Eh sings Baetles songs and doesn’t afraid of anything

i want this to be in the game too where the elites and brutes have the rift between them
it would make some of the fights abit more intresting and maybe have some good dialog between the brutes and elites while they're taking cover
