It's cherry, tastes like strawberry, looks like watermelon, and you think it's raspberry just because.

i think they reacted different to a sniper rifle because of buck's mission when romeo shot the engineer maybe they have like a collective mind like shared thoughts thats how they have the abilitie to fix well anything and after being killed by the rifle the other quickly understood that snipers bad just my thoughts on that

I have seen this before. What I mean to say is that the engineers will most definnitly learn from past experiences. I was in New Mombasa streets for my first time playing. I freaked out when I saw these two engineers for the first time in a court yard that was closed off (similar to the small "stonehenge" area), and I began to open fire at one of them with my smg. The engineer chirped and increased its internal gases making it float away. But it was flying specifically towards the other engineer, and the other alien did the same. This is a defenseive strategy I had realized. Just like how the engineer carrying the superintendent sheilded Dare's Elephant to protect dare and itself, the two engineers flew together to multiply each others sheilds to a great strength until the injured one fully healed. I also noticed that, after I left and got the Rocket Launcher to kill the engineers (I was new), I came back and the engineer I fired at earlier reacted to my prescence by simply moving as far away as possible, but not to its partner for protection. This demonstrates a trust that the aliens must have in humans that they are not truly enemies of each other, but neither engineer nor player can communicate such. At the same time, the engineer i figured was the one I hadn't fired at was floating close enough to me that i could touch it.

Hope this helps.

When you reentered the room and the engineer ran away, did you have the rocket launcher equipped, or the SMG? I tested the engineers and found that if you equip a power weapon (i.e. rocket launcher, sniper rifle (I haven't tried this with a brute shot)) and point it at them, they will fly away and group together. They will also fly away if you shoot at them with an SMG or a pistol, but after a while will cease being afraid of you and will remain calm even if you point it at them. They will only run away again if you shoot them again.

A excess of firepower can be used to solve any social, economic, or military situation. Also, Wraiths rule!

I've figured out what the secret of the loading screens where Vergil is scanning the city.

Before I waste my time though, plz tell me if someone else has found this first (highly likely).

Ah, stuff it. Noone's online now.

Anyway, the secret is that Vergil is scanning for Master Chief. If you look down in the bottom right hand corner of the loading screen, you can see a bunch of letters and numbers. (Lol'd at the reference of the left hand side). Eventually, those letters state

SIERRA117LOCLINK
LINKLOST
RETRY
FAILED
RETRY
FAILED

And so on and so forth before Vergil cycles through the options and starts scanning again. Now, due to the part with hte larger letters where is says 'AUTHDARE...', it is possible that Dare had Vergil looking for Chief, which may be partly why she wants to get Vergil back (becasue as we know, MC left New Mombasa around the time of the Slipspace rupture, and he probably left people confused to his whereabouts). Let me know if i've missed something.

Also, i think that the 'Y' symbols have something to do with the massacre of the Elites. I've noticed that there are often the plain Y's by or near dead elites, and i think that perhaps the squids are trying to tell the story of what happened there.

That part about MC is a very good idea. I can't verify what you saw at the moment, but I'll try when I get the chane.

kthx. Try loading up a solo campaign mission in progress. That seems to give the slowest loading screen, which gives you the best chance to find this.

Also, new discovery. In the credits, there's a little text thing in the left hand corner. It's an in-joke to Halo 3, and it says 'Message Recieved- Disable lights before leaving building'. Recoginise it anyone!?

New Info, if anyone's listening.

There are two ODST's running around in New Mombasa somewhere.
You know how two of the com data objects are next to or near crashed drop pods. To clarify- There's one pod with a SMG and magnum ammo nearby, along with some dead grunts (who have no guns). The second one is on a building near Alpha Site, and has an SMG near it. Now, we know that the occupants couldn't have been Dare, or Buck, or Rookie, or Dutch ,because we saw where they landed. That leaves Mickey and Romeo. Know lets look at the facts.

Fact: ODST drop pods can carry two weapons only.
Fact: Romeo had his sniper rifle when he dropped, and its likely that he had his pistol too.
Fact:Whether Mickey had his Launcher at drop is unknown, but did have an SMG with him when you meet him.
Therefore: As both pods have SMG's next to them neither can be Mickey's or Romeo's pod.

This means that there are two ODST's running around in New Mombasa, one with an Automag and possible a PP, and the other with unknown weapons. I've run into random corpses in New Mombasa sometimes, and perhaps the unknow soldiers killed them?

EDIT: Is anyone actually reading what I post? Well, besides one guy.

Has anyone pointed out how much the Y in the glyphs look like a Forerunner Dreadnought?

Perhaps they tell the story of a war?...

I found one of those pods in ODST, in a tall grass "garden", and wrote about that in this thread: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=45686310&p ostRepeater1-p=1#45745370
