OK, things I've noticed.

There are three Stonehenges. The three of them form a triangle. In the center of that triangle is the Elite massacre (where Buck asks about the civil war.)

Where I've seen the SI signs (the Y with the Super's face), they've all been pointing down with the exception of the ones that are ON the datacenter. SI is underground.

Also, If I remember correctly (I wasn't actually playing this part, my friend's were), when you are doing Data Hive, you start pretty far north in the city and then travel under ground pretty far south. Perhaps SI's Data Center is in the center of the three stonehenges? They would be ancient Markers to what is under the Data Center which would be the Ark portal.

What's the deal with the area around Dare's Drop Pod. There are four giant stones there too but nothing in particular strikes me when I hang out near them.

Has anyone tried lighting up all of the lamps around the stonehenge area at the same time? (Using multiple people of course).

Also, I don't know if it's possible but has anybody tried having three different people at the three stonehenge sites? They seem pretty close together and especially if Bungie was trying not to break the system by having three people really far apart.

Has anyone tried lowering their weapons while in the middle of one of the stonehenges? Especially around the Engineers

I feel like I've seen the other symbols before somewhere. Perhaps in Halo 1?

later, while looking around Dare's crash site, there's a sign in the plaza on the left (while looking down at the pit). It's the only one working and it says "Connection Lost" or something like that. On Easy it says it on both sides while on legendary it'll say that on one side and then on the other it'll say "ACCESS DENIED - Proper Authorization Required 1.3442.9390.10"

nice find.

also i tried lowering my weapon in the center of a stone henge. nothing happens unusual.

i did manage to get into sector 9 and explore the outside a bit. nothing is there. no si symbols, enemies, cars, wreckage, nothing. it is just an empty street version of Kikowani station. however this does confirm that the map is split in two reflected and then reversed .sides.

"Nothing is True, Everything is Permited."

This is a continuation of my exploration on page 5 if your interested.

I watched the video of my exploration of Sinoviet Courtyard, and I noticed a few things that I had previously missed.
The brutes came for me from a huge distance away. They started coming when I fired my weapon at a Phantom as it flew overhead. Shortly after I killed them I went to go look for health packs to no avail. This is when I detached the camera to look for other odities about the city. I had already detached the camera during the video once before. Earlier I noticed for the first time, a Phantom that had crashed into a building. However, this time it was missing.
Also, all of the health pack kiosks only disapeared after I went back to the BELIEVE marking.

Enimies tend to respawn right outside while you are standing in Sinoviet Courtyard.

Is this helping anybody at all?

Ok, new find.
The "super SI glyph" I have been talking aboutm I believe it does NOT appear at Dare's crash site, but the "ACCESS" button is still there.

Also, the other "mirror" plaza is covered in glyphs, like dozens of them. It's the only place in the game that has lots of glyphs but doesn't point to a mission or audio log (I believe). It seems strange to me that the plaza would be covered in glyphs if there was nothing there...

Unfortunatly, I can't because I don't have Live, but I'll try to explain the area a bit better.

One of the locations is in the area where you start Buck's first mission. It is also where the firefight level "Crater" takes place. If you can find that one, you can look at your map and find another area that looks identical (It's also almost right next to it).

Once you get there, you'll be at the top of some stairs. To see the super SI glyph go down the stairs and turn around and go under the stairs. To see the "ACCESS" button go down the stairs and continue forward until you are under the stairs on the opposite side. Both the super SI glyph and the button are on the center section of their corrosponding back walls. The 2 plazas are identical in formation and both have the SI glyph and the button.

I don't know if that helped or not...

I personally can build a decent enough mental picture, thanks for the information!

That's definitely interesting, and seems to me like it was on purpose. I'm going to see what I can dig up about Stonehenge, and figure out if there is anything about it that is being overlooked. From my understanding, things Stonehenge is thought to be is a calender, a burial ground, and for some reason I'm thinking a portal... Or something like that, I'll look around.

That observation is correct in the majority of cases. There are a few that are not pointing down, but definitely it would appear the majority are. The SI could well be buried in the center of the Stonehenge rooms... However, the center of the Ark Portal is located between New Mombasa, which is where ODST takes place, and the town of Voi which is part of Halo 3. So potentially it is a part that extends off of the center of the Portal, or it is something entirely different but forerunner none the less...

To my knowledge nobody has tried to light up all the lamps at one time, and to my knowledge nobody has had three people standing in the centers of the Stonehenge rooms. Perhaps one must stand in the dark sector's Stonehenge room as well? If it's possible that is.

This definitely seems a bit interesting, and is something that stands out... It, to me, seems like the SI is trying to give one of his broken clues. If the "Proper Authorization" is found this area could become quite useful, could you by chance get any screenshots of the sign?

In reference to engineers.

At the beginning when you meet your first engineer as the rookie you see it being held by brutes while they are planting a bomb on the engineer. Anyway to stop it/have a different affect if a new approach was taken?

After Halo 3 we saw a few scripted events take place in the game, one can be witnissed on Crow's Nest. Upon entering a tunnel you see a Warthog that within seconds is blown up by a plasma grenade, another case is on the Ark I believe, where you get lots of tanks. I forget which group of people, but they held contests to see who could break the scripted events, and they did...

So what does that tell us? Scripted events can be stopped and in the past have altered gameplay, not in such a way that this potentially does but even so. If it's possible to stop the arming of the Engineers bomb, then maybe he is key or at least a key in unlocking part of this mystery.

Thanks for the follow up! First off we learn that quirks do occur in the game, why the brutes were dropped from such a long distance away is peculiar... Secondly what rings a bell is the crashed Phantom. After it had disappeared was there a gaping hole left? Maybe we could get up into it, I think it would depend on how many Phantoms there are crashed into a building. If there are many, then probably not the case, if there is only this one, it potentially can be a clue... Even a land mark.

And you got confirmation on health pack kiosks disappearing upon visiting the BELIEVE marking.

Also I think you witnissed one of the first instances of a respawn in Mombasa Streets, interesting. And yes it helps, rules out possibilities and such things in the very least.

After doing Legendary I ran around the city killing engineers to get my achievement, & I found brutes holding another engineer. Only they didn't put a bomb on it, they rammed a carbine into it as hard as they could while shouting & cursing. Momentarily shocked, I killed them all.
I wish I had kept watching now...

Go to my ODST account and look at the screenshot called 117 its is one of those doors. The cool thing is the door has 117 written on with bullets. I DID NOT DO THIS IT WAS ALREADY THEIR. FYI 117 is the spartan number of master chief.

"Nothing is True, Everything is Permited."

There was only one phantom. When it disapeared, smoke was still coming out of the crash site.

NEW FIND INVOLVING THE ACCESS BUTTON!

I have discovered that when the "Super SI Glyph" appears in the mirror plaza a 2ND access button appears.
The 2nd button is easily found. If the Super SI Glyph (Y Glyph with SI in each sector) is there do a 180 spin and you will find the 2nd button.

I'm not sure what to think, but I'm thinking it's important...

Interesting, now we can either simply try to get up there or note its location for future referance if something points us in that direction.

Wow, and you're positive it only appears upon viewing of the tri-glyph? That's definitely interesting, I wouldn't even understand how that's possible to be a load glitch... Also noted for future referance, I'm assuming you still couldn't find a way to activate them?

BUMP
Indeed. There seems to be an alarming lack of information about the so-called Bump Glitch.

Bumping makes a sector half-loaded. This means that security doors disappear, giving access to the areas behind. Optican stations also disappear, and other things, such as the crashed Phantom, disappear too.

The act of "looking at the glyphs" is just accidentally bumping a sector. Bumping works this way: Start at sector A. Go to sector B. Go close to a door leading to sector C, but not close enough to hit "Loading... done". This will "bump" sector A. The bumping happens when you feel a slight lag moment and your teammates from sector A appear beside you. That leaves sector A half-loaded, but it doesn't fully unload until you hit "loading... done", making you able to explore the half-loaded sector.

  • 10.15.2009 9:06 AM PDT

I will try to confirm to see of the music starts playing and the engineers start circling me. Also they react in a scared way to rockets as well but I think thats just basic AI reactions.

  • 10.15.2009 2:50 PM PDT

100% positive it only appears when viewing the triglyph.

And no, I still cannot figure out how to activate them. I'm thinking you maybe have to activate them in a certain order for something to happen. But I don't know what order that is, or how to activate them.

I don't remember if I mentioned or not, but there is also a 2nd access button in Dare's plaza that it always there.

I also believe that in the mirror plaza, something may happen above the stairs where I found the original button, as that area has a substantial amount of glyphs around it.

I'm going to do some more snooping around tonight and see if I can find anything more.

EDIT: So I did some more snooping around and I found a 3rd button. It's right at the top of the stairs in the plaza to the left.

Another thing that was quite interesting: I was going from one plaza to the other meleeing the buttons, just seeing if anything would happen. When I got to the mirror plaza at some point, all of the buttons were gone. I left and came back, and one was there. It was really strange. It might also be noted that just before I had visited all 3 of the Stongehenge sites.

I really wish I wasn't the only one investigating this! Someone else should seriously be helping me!

sorry for double post, but seriously...BUMP

  • 10.16.2009 6:35 PM PDT

I think standing in front of the stonehendges and the music playing thing is wrong. Because engineers circle you on a daily bases. And for the chieften music it plays randomly while your at night. I think it was all a coincidence.

  • 10.17.2009 12:00 AM PDT

Here are some things I've found, look at my screenshots called G1-G4

G1- That is the place where the three face superintendent glyph is, I didn't show up at the time. I managed to open the two doors one the sides. I think I opened them by looking at some glyphs nearby. After I quit and tried to reopen them by looking at some glyphs nearby, I failed. Inside the two doors were hallways that were a couple feet long, dark, and empty.

G3- On my way to the three face glyph there were glyphs on that pillar.

G2- On my way back there were none. I tried filming it to see what would happen, and how they would dissapear. But while I was watching the camera brought me back to my character because I reached a checkpoint.

G4- Before leaving to go to bed I checked the wall with the faces again. I did not see anything on the wall but as you can see in the picture the faces are clearly their. Now, I don't know if I didn't notice it, or if it actually didn't appear.

BTW i know how to get in the Stanoviet courtyard I can show you how my gamertag is CarbonizedGoat7 send me a message saying why you need my help so I know.
